  1. thanks - let me know how you go. Just think get the first 4 days over with and then you will feel a lot better!
  2. I was banded 12 days ago. In the first week I lost 7kg (15 lbs). Is this normal, it seems a lot to me - not that I am complaining!??? The surgeon gave me no fluid in my band as he said he thought my band appeared quite tight without it. Why would this be? Also after 3 days I began to eat pureed food, and now I am on solids, chicken, fish etc. One piece of fish for breakfast will do me until tea time. Is it OK to zoom through the eating steps like I have. I have not vomited once, nor have I been close.
  3. Hi I don't have Thryoid Cancer but I do have Hashimotos disease, which has similar effects. My own body ate away my thryoid. I was banded about 12 days ago. I lost 7kg (about 15 lbs) in the first week. I personally beleive that there is a link between no thryoid and sugar etc cravings too. I still craved a bit the first week but get that over with and its ok. Some doctors won't operate on people with thryoid problems as it is considered a weight related illness. (at least for mine.) I have lost large amounts of weight before with no thryoid, but just never kept it off. I beleive that for people like us, exercise is even more important. I am now not feeling as tired, my memory is better, at least i think. Just remember that medication reviews will be more important now to maintain as the effects of too much medication are just as bad as not enough.
