  1. On Saturday the 14th of July I went in for an adjustment. I lost 9 pounds since my previous adjustment and was feeling a good restriction but felt that I could use a little more so on sat my doc put in .2 cc in my band. I went home and did the 24 hours of liquids. Then starting eating and I was feeling restricted, but on the 16th around dinner time I could not get anything down. I thought that I was just stuck so I waited a few hours and then tried to get some liquids down and I just regurgitated it all up and it was not going down. so this morning on the 17th I tried to have my Protein shake in the morning and it was so difficult to get down, then 5 hours later i tried to eat a cheez-it and it was stuck even though i chewed it to a paste. I felt like my food was just sitting in my throat. I kept getting up to go to the bathroom and not exactly throw up but spit up what was in my throat. So I tried to wait and see if it would go through but nope. So i called the doctor and they took me in right away because I just kept burping everything up. He unfilled me 2 ccs not the .2cc that they just filled me in with. Has anyone been unfilled this much after an overfill (meaning had them take out more than what they put in). I feel like they took too much out. I am scheduled for an appointment next week so they can refill me but I still feel that they took too much out. Anyone experience anything like this? Please let me know. Thanks.
  2. I was told 60-80 grams of protein, never said anything on carbs or calories, but to stay on low fat, fat free and to only eat 1/2 a cup of food at each meal. I was also told to have 3 meals and 2 snacks a day and to exercise, exercise and exercise.
  3. I was told 60-80 grams of protein a day and to avoid high sugary, greasy and fatty foods. I was never told anything about calories.
  4. I had my surgery on October 7, 2011 and I was 250 lbs, I have had two fills and currently have around 5 ccs in my band. I dont feel any restriction but I have been eating healthy (no fried foods, sugary, high calorie, I eat whole grains/wheats and I barely eat red meats) and I do workout occasionally. I am currently 217 lbs and I feel like I have not lost enough (although no one is typical), I feel like I should have lost more weight by now or am I just having a bit to high expectations for myself. I am going in for a fill this coming weekend. I feel even more discouraged because I went to a urologist ( I know they shouldnt know too much about banding procedures) and he told me that I should have lost more weight and its January 12th, 2012. From my understand people who get a gastric banding (I have the lapband) you don't lose weight as quick as people who get other gastic weight loss surgeries. Am I overthinking this? I know everyone is different, I just want some imput from fellow banders. Thanks!

    Weight Loss Normal Or Not?

Hi, I went to the urologist because I have been having continuous UTI's since November and then recently have been testing negative for infections but still have the symptoms. But the urologist I went to was not helpful at all, I told him that a particular antibiotic was giving me adverse side effects and he prescribed it to me with a different name and didnt know until I got home and realized he had given me the same prescription just brand name (more money for him..i guess). He did not exam me or anything or even introduce himself. He seemed more concerned with my lap band lack of weight loss instead of my urinary issues. I guess he never struggled with weight at all, so telling a larger girl who has been large since 8 or 9 that she is not losing enough kind of put a damper on my motivation. Thanks for all the support guys, I feel better reading and knowing from other people who have a band as well.
