I totally understand that things don't always work for everyone in just about all things in life. I haven't read all the replies but I have a few questions for you:
Are you journaling what you are eating and following the guidelines from your nutritionist? If so, what does she/he recommend?
    Are you exercising regularly?
Are you drinking liquids with calories?
Have you lost any weight since banding? We all lose at different rates and if you are heading down that is better than gaining which is what most of us are used to!
I eat far more variety than just chicken and green beans. For breakfast I had eggs, bacon and toast. For dinner I'll have a chef salad. Now lunch wasn't too great, chicken nuggets (5 small ones from Wendy's) and popcorn. I'll eat fruit for dessert tonight. I made pot roast for dinner last night. I think you can incorporate many/most foods in to your diet. It is not the free for all of our pre-banding days but can be quite enjoyable!
I wish you the best on your journey and hope you find what works for you. I'd suggest you keep trying to find a way to make peace and find success with using the band as the tool (not cure) that it is meant to be. I know you've been frustrated and hope things improve soon!

Hi, I'm Tiana I aaam 18 years old, and I'm about 3 weeks away from my lap band surgery date. I am 325, my BMI is 52 ( shocking I know!). My overall goal weight is 150. And I think it's very doable for me.
I decided to have the lap band on my 18th birthday. When I decided I needed to do something about my weight was when I was unable to fit on a ride at Hersey Park, then found myself google fat friendly amusement parks. I then realized it wasn't the parks that needed to change, it was myself. I love amusement parks.
I start my two week diet on Friday, yippy, I think that's all. K, bai!

This is so true. The foods I can no longer eat have nothing to do with willpower or choosing not to eat them. I have read some posts that say "I refuse to deny myself food". For me, it has nothing to do with denying myself any type of food. The band will not let me eat those things. I am ok with no longer being able to every type of food in the world. These foods I can no longer eat must have been part of the reason I was obese. It has been very easy for me. It has been very basic .... insert band, get a couple fills, the weight melted off. So what if I can't eat steak or bread. I went from a size 24 jeans to a size 10!

all i can say is do your research and talk with people who have had it. attend the dr.s monthly meetups and local support groups if you have them. i did all the above and so was very comfortable when i made my decision to have the lapband. i had it done dec 13th, it was very easy and recovery has been pretty smooth because i knew what to expect because of all the research i did BEFORE surgery.i think the more you know the less worried you are before, and after. a calm mind =less stress=easier recovery. just my opinion. im down 12 lbs, feel great 1 wish id known about this years ago, already down 1 pant size ! woo-hoo !!
