  1. I am considering the lap-band after several failed attempts at losing weight on my own. (including a tv show!) My biggest concern with the lap-band is the thing they leave in your stomach to make adjustments. Does it inhibit movement? I play volleyball twice a week. Is it permanent or just in for the first few months? Does it protrude? etc etc. Any insight would be helpful. My job is fairly physical, and I have a healthy sex life with my partner. I'd hate for this port thing to inhibit normal activity. ~PH
