Hey all! I got the nectar sample pack the other day. As I was looking at the "instructions" it mentioned to mix with Water and not milk. I wanted to check to see if any of you use the nectar drinks and what you used to mix it with. Just a little scared it'll be too watery! THANKS!!!!

Any June Sleevers?
Hey all!! Congrats on your surgery dates I'm so excited for all of us!! So, anyone else having crazy surgery dreams yet?!? Last night I had a dream where I was checking in for surgery, but my mom was walking around in a hospital gown all looped out on pain meds and muscle relaxers (to be fair, she did just have 3 of the vertebra in her neck fused). That's all I remember, but it was pretty funny.

My mom is coming to stay with me for a couple days as well. We will be taking care of each other though. She had three disks in her neck fused. It'll just be nice having her around for company. She's usually one who can't sit still and was planning an deep cleaning my house before she found out she had to have her surgery. This just means I'll have to do it ahead of time so it'll be easy to maintain.

Curious What I Will Look Like
Hey all! I'm sure everyone is curious as to what they will look like when you hit your weight loss goals. I found an awesome website http://makeovr.com/weightmirror/liftupload.php that helps you visualize it. All you need to do is upload your picture, edit your current weight and height, and adjust the weight you want to lose. It's slightly limited, as I want to lose about 150 lbs, but would show me about 100. It's an illusion, but fun to play with Here's an example of what I may look like after losing 100 lbs if the site is correct

June Surgery Pre-Op Diets Encouragement/vents
Hello all. Had able great day yesterday! I stuck to replacing two meals with shakes and drank 80 oz of fluids besides. My only downfall was I had a lunch date. We went to a local restaurant and I had a huge turkey burger and about half of the homemade chips that came with it....I really want to see Jim again before surgery (which he knows about) but not sure if I can because dates usually revolve around some sort of food. It'll be much easier dating when my sleeve is healed!!

Bougie Sizes?
My surgeon uses a 34f (sounds like a bra size...lol). I also have a long torso, so this will be interesting.

June Surgery Pre-Op Diets Encouragement/vents
Hello all! I officially start my pre-op diet on June 1st for a June 11th surgery. My pre-op seems pretty lenient, although I'm not allowed any solid food. I am allowed 5-6 shakes a day, most are to be like slimfast or carnation instant breakfast as they have more nutrients than your typical whey Protein. Then I'm allowed as much Water, 0 calorie liquids, sugar free popsicles and sugar free Jello as needed. My NUT also said I could have sugar free lattes in addition to my shake allowance. The best part, my surgeon just did the 10 day diet as well, so he is more sympathetic as to what I'm going though I've decided to ease my way into the full liquid diet. This week I am replacing my breakfast with a carnation instant breakfast shake, and starting on Saturday I'll be replacing my dinner as well. I feel my co-workers will be happier with me if I eat my solid food at lunch I am having my "last supper" over Memorial Day weekend. We are going to have some awesome chicken enchiladas, chips and salsa....and MARGARITAS!! I haven't drank since starting this journey in January and don't plan on drinking for at least a year after. My family is filled with addicts, and I don't need to tempt myself with a transfer addiction. Love you all! It'll be so great to share this journey. Good luck!!!

Suggestions For A Good Pre-Op(Pre-Liquid) Diet To Lose Weight Before Being Considered For Surgery?
My diet during my 3 months of visits with the NUT consisted of 3 meals, with 3 oz of lean meat, veggies and a fruit. No snacking between meals, but was allowed a glass of milk 3 times a day, and I supplemented one of those with some Protein powder. I'm down 40 lbs (little over 10% of my TBW) since my first NUT visit in January. My bariatric center didn't make me lose weight, but they wanted me to start changing my lifestyle so I'd be successful after surgery. I say any diet will work for you, as long as you are determined to make it work! Good luck

Wanted Minnesota Buddies
Hello all! I'm in Brooklyn Park and just scheduled for June 11th with Dr. Svendsen at Park Nicollet. I'd love to have as many local friends as possible. I think it'd be fun to all get together sometime as well. Once I was approved, I had a pre-op appt with my surgeon within a week, and was able to ****** up a surgery date a little over 3 weeks away. I was lucky to get that appointment, as it had just opened up that morning. I was in the right place at the right time Sheril, I hope you get the insurance stuff all figured out. I'm doing the same thing right now. Park Nicollet has two surgeons, and the other surgeon was the one who signed my precert request. Now I just need to get Dr. Svendsen on record as my surgeon. They say it should be pretty easy....I'm praying they are right. Talk to you all soon!!

Easing Into Liquid Diet?!?
Hello all! I officially start my 10 day liquid pre-op diet on June 1st From going through the plan with my NUT it doesn't seem so bad. I need to have 5 Meal Replacement shakes a day (can have a 6th if I really need it)...plus all the Water, non-caloric drinks (Vitamin water 0, 0 calorie sports drinks, crystal light), tea/coffee, sugar free Jello, and sugar free popsicles I want, They want me to stay away from the whey Proteins, and have slimfast or carnation instant Breakfast so I'm getting some nutrients as well. Has anyone tried easing into the liquid diet by starting one week replacing one meal, and the next week replacing two meals? Seems like it may help ease the pain. Thanks for your input. Love you all

Endoscopy....
I just did the ultrasound, and they push REALLY hard on your ribcage area! Still think it's kind of odd I don't need an endoscopy as it seems everyone else has one pre-op. But, I trust my surgeon and my bariatric center!

I Just
That is fantastic! I was proud yesterday that I fit into a size 26 pant. I'm still pre-op, but went from a 30/32 in January to a 26!! Still a bit too tight for public, but YAY
