  1. Thank you for the encouraging words. I am the oldest person to have had this surgery in our area. The Doctor was a little hesitant due to my age and multiple health problems. I did very well with the surgery, have had 3 fills since June 21, 2011. My biggest problem to date has been wanting to overeat and then being sick. Trying to slow down and stop when I get full. After so many years of eating large portions it is hard getting use to such a small amount of food. My wife no longer uses dinner plates, we use the dessert plates and they are not full! Two months after my surgery I ended up with a knee replacement that caused far more problems than my lap band. I use to wear oxygen 24/7 no longer need it. It is wonderful!!
  2. I had my lap band at age 76, have lost 70 pounds so far, almost 6 mo post op. Very pleased! Wish I would have done it sooner. Feel so much better, able to breathe and walk.
