So at the beginning of the month i emailed my doctor about getting sleeved (i have kaiser) she told me she wasnt sure if kaiser even offered the sleeve and she would get back to me. Even though i already know kaiser does offer it. Well after a couple weeks of no response i thought she had forgotten about me and i kind of started thinking maybe i shouldnt follow through with it any more. Then just a few minutes ago i got an email from her saying she has signed me up for the earliest available WLS class on march 8th!! she said to let her know once i finish the class and she will refer me to a surgeon. I cant believe it was that easy i thought for sure i would need to go see her in order to get a referral. Im so excited the process is finally getting underway but scared at the same time!

Yeah my doctor is petite as well. I barely ever go To her so I don't know her personality very well. I guess I just need to suck it up and email her though.

i'm still pre-op..but one suggestion. call your doctor? Just from what i've been reading, having pain like that this far out isn't normal.

I have kaiser, and for around the last month i've been researching WLS, but my pcp had been on vacation until the 7th so i was waiting to email her about it. The 7th came and went and i still haven't worked up the courage to email her...i guess i am just nervous about what she will say. Am I going to have to go in for a physical to get a referral to a surgeon? I've gained around 30lbs since the last time I saw her (in March)...but even then my BMI alone qualified me. (I have no other health problems from my weight) Also guess I am nervous about my family finding out. I broke my right foot on 11/25 so I can't exaclty drive myself to appointments or anything. Was anyone else nervous/embarrassed about talking to their doctor? Any experiences having WLS through Kaiser?
