Alright.... So I'm here at my hospital for this sleep study and I hope the bed is comfortable!!! Wonder what they gotta put on me...... and has anyone had to do the Gastroenterology??? Do they really have to stick something down your throat in order to see the lining in your stomach???? Do they put you to sleep?? I'm gonna gag ughhhh Sorry guys just sitting here waiting and writing whatever comes to my mind lol

I am sure I will feel awesome once the surgery day comes or better yet my approval date!! LOL but hey I guess I can just keep pushing on!! Thanks guys for all the encouragement! You guys are the BEST!!! hope to see most of you all on the LOSERS bench :Banane55: <<<<< I love those banana's LOLOL

Hey VS fam! I have been on here for a little bit now but this is my first official post :Banane55: .... I have started my journey to the VSG on 11/2/11 with all of my required appointments that are requested from my insurance. I am so0o0o0o excited about the fact that I get a second chance at life and because I have 2 little kids (1 and 3) that pushes me more. I want to see my kids grow up and get married and have kids and be successful :-) butttttttttttttttt I am so tired of these appointments OMG, One after another after another. It's becoming just a little over whelming, I can't wait to get all this paper work and appointments done so that I can breathe again lol. I know everyone is different but how long did it take you guys to get a surgery date???

Well I called them after I seen your post :biggrin: and they said my date will be Jan. 11th if all goes well I am in there!!! oh yeah :Banane55: LOL

Three months isn't bad at all I guess I am beyond ready lol, I agree wait wait to start living!!!! Umm I have no idea I thought I would have gotten one from them but haven't heard anything, Do they give you an anticipated date before your stuff is sent through to the insurance???

I am not too sure how each state works but I have Amerigroup through maryland medicaid so i called them and asked im not sure what the code was but they did say they covered it if it was medically necessary and u had to have a bmi of 40 or over or 35 i think with co-morbities. I also went to my pcp and spoke with her about my plan and she was excited as much as i was and referred me to a great surgeon i went to the seminar then went to the 1st consultation but before i even went to the consultation the surgeons staff called my insurance company first to make sure it was covered! I hope all works out for ur friend!!

I live in Maryland and i am in the process of getting the VSG i have been to all of my doctor/specialty appointments except for the gastroenterology but i spoke with my insurance under medicaid for md and so has my surgeons office to make sure the vsg is covered and they said as long as it is medically necessary with the requested documents it will be apprived so we will see... Im not sure what kind of insurance your friend has under medicaid but has she called and spoke with anyone yet?
