  1. I was sent home with liquid Lortab (1 tbsp. every six hours as needed), Simethicone (gas-x), Prevacid. I didn't have any nausea, so I didn't need anything for that...that's scary that you had to tell the nurse to cut a pill up! Hope you're doing better today, hun.
  2. I'm on day 9 post-op, but remember day 3 very well...I promise it's gets so much better!! For me it was about half-way through day four, and I just keep feeling better and better! I'm with the posters above - my liquid Lortab has been wonderful and I'm walking as much as possible. I regretted my surgery the first couple of days...but that passed, and now I'm excited for my future! Hang in there!! Hugs!
  3. Thanks, Christin! I'm in awe of you for no naps until week 4! It's amazing to me how different everyone's experiences are!
  4. Thank you, Lissa! I am a person who needs lots of sleep to heal - when I'm sick, I sleep a lot more than most people I know. I'm glad it's not an all consuming exhaustion - that would worry me more. I have lots of energy most of the time (waaaay more than I expected to have only seven days out!). So, I'll nap away!
  5. Hi everyone! When I got home the day after my surgery, I could only sleep on and off for about three days - three hours asleep, three hours awake, etc. I finally started sleeping longer without waking up on days three and four post-op. On day five, I could sleep on my side again (hallelujah!) and slept all night, with just nap during the day. But now it seems I'm regressing...I sleep all night, which is great, but on day six and day seven (today) I needed two 2 1/2-3 hour naps, practically back to back. I just woke up from nap number two, and I feel great, but it feels like going backward a bit. Anyone else's experiences would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Happy Birthday! And yes, those little things mean the world! For instance - last night I took my chewable multi's and for the first time, they made me slightly nauseous. I was bummed that it started happening, but a little voice in my head said, "Remember, sf popsicles fix everything!" I remembered that from your youtube video. So I had a sf popsicle and it totally took the nausea away!!! It was like a little miracle.
  7. Hi Dooter, I'm day 5 post-op and I'm SO not hungry. It's amazing. I just started my full liquid diet today (first four days were clear only), and I had a 1/2 a c. of strained cream of chicken Soup for lunch. I was so full - too full! I'm going to have 1/4 a cup next time I have it. I've been drinking lots of Water and my Protein drinks (although it's 4:30 in California, and I've only had one Protein Drink and the soup in addition to my water, so I'm due for my second protein drink soon). It definitely changes how you view hunger and how you eat!! You'll do great!

I didn't know that you could get an abscess two months out and a leak three months out! Did your dr. tell you why/how that happen? You've been through so much!
  9. Misha, how exciting! We're one day apart! We'll have to keep in touch. I'm SO excited - lots of butterflies here, too! I had dreams last night that I ate after midnight - ha, ha!! Good luck to you, too! Goldenraisen, thank you SO much! You're getting close, too! Keep me updated!
  10. Hi everyone! I just wanted to thank everyone on this board for all the kind words and invaluable information that you share with us newbies. I've been on here since October while I was doing all of my preparation for surgery, and my surgery date is finally here...Thursday, February 2nd at 1:30. I've learned so much! Keep me in your thoughts/prayers. See you on the other side!! Darla
  11. I'm so excited! After five months of classes, etc., through Kaiser, I have my surgery date!! February 2nd! I can hardly wait!!
  12. You made me laugh!! Hang in there, the smell will be over soon! That is completely cruel, though!
  13. I totally agree! I'm addicted, too! It's nice to have a place to go for information and help with questions!
