  1. Hi I am almost 6 weeks post op, I have lost 49lbs and was on a real 'High'. BUT this evening, for no apparent reason, I feel really down, not depressed, just sad. I have no reason for this, I don't crave food, and I am enjoying a healthy puree diet. I just want to cry!
  2. Hi I am 8 weeks post op... and I haven't lost any hair, I didn't know it was likely to happen! have lots of people lost their hair then? I have lost 56lbs and I'm very happy with that!
  3. Hi to needalife,longer-life and Lilypad, I had my sleeve 7 weeks ago tomorrow, and like you needalife, I waited a year and then was told 2 weeks before the op that I was being admitted. I can honestly say that it is the best thing that i have ever done! I have spent too many years putting on weight and at last I am losing. I have lost 49lb, I think that might be a bit quick, but I'm not complaining as I am sure the loss will slow down. I had my op in London as i live here in the UK and I was looked after beautifully and despite my other illness/disabilites, all as gone smoothly and according to plan. I was nervous the day before the op but once in the hospital I felt excited! I'm going for my follow up appoinment next week and I want to shake the surgeon and his team by the hand. They truely have changed my life for the better. I would like to wish all three of you the all the very best, please let me know how you get on, DidZ
  4. Thank you for your reply, wondering1, I'm sitting here 2am in UK, can't sleep, and trying to work out why I feel so sad when everyone tells me I'm doing so well! Hormones... that makes sense, right, gonna try and sleep now, hope that will sort it out! Thanks DidZ X

    Did this for me

Hi Butterfly... well said! you appear to have the right attitude. I see this as a second chance too, and why eat burgers when there are so many other tasty things to eat? I did this for me too! I had my sleeve on 5 weeks ago, in London UK and I'm feeling great. I kept it quiet from a lot of people as I didnt want any negativity before my op. Some people say,, how do you live without eating juicy steak? I reply I was a veggie before op and I used to make Soup, it's just the same really. So sorry you lost your friend's support. I didn't tell my boyfriend because he liked me fat, I dumped him just a few weeks before the op, because I got fed up with him telling me I was gorgeous, when I was so unhappy! I couldn't lye down for the 1st week, but eventually I could, I'm still a bit tender on my left side and dont like to lye on the left. IThere is only one problem I have and that is I cant drink enough water/liquids, there is just no room! take care I look forward to reading your posts. DidZ xxx i
  6. Hi I am 4 weeks post op, I have lost 42lb, everything has gone well apart from the fact that I have had a UTI ever since I was in hospital, so I have been on antibiotics for 3/4 weeks now. Pre-op I was prone to UTI's and would drink a large glass of Water to flush it through. The problem now is it takes me 2/3 hours to drink that same amount of Fluid, and then have to stop to eat, and don't want to drink again for an hour after food. I am going to see a Urologist in a few weeks time, but really need to try and drink more water... Any suggestions? when will I be able to drink more? will I ever be able to eat and drink at the same time?
  7. That explains, why I find it easier to drink tea! pre-op, I was used to drinking lots of bottled water, which I leave in the fridge. Today I will try room temp water and let you know how it goes! Many thanks...
  8. thank you for your reply, I do like drinking water, more than any other drink, I guess my body will adjust to the smaller quanities soon.
  9. Thank you for your reply, It's good to know that I will be able to drink more eventually! at the moment I just want to drink all the time rather than eat, but I'm sure that will change when I get this sorted out. I am so pleased with my weight loss, it has certainly been worth it! 6 months! wow how much have you lost?
  10. thankyou for your reply AutumnLily, I will certainly give the cranberry juice a try!

    Cold feet?

Hi I had my Gastric Sleeve, 4 weeks ago, and like you I didn't want to hear anything bad! So only my imediate family knew and a few close friends. My surgery was a great success, no problems what so ever, now everyone knows because I've lost significant weight already. Good luck, you will be fine, and if someone asks you, tell them you don't want to discuss it until after the operation. All the best
