  9. Mine was quick as well. I went to the seminar on August 23rd , I waited a month for the consult, to make sure that I wanted to do that. That day, September 29th I was scheduled tentatively for Dec 7th. I got the insurance approval 2 weeks later. now just waiting for the day.
  10. Hi, I am 27 and from north Jersey. I am looking for a few things, I guess. I'd like a mentor, a buddy and some cyber support. I am a no BS kind of person so that more abrasive you are the better. I'd like someone to kick my ass if I'm slacking and I'll do the same to you. If you are close we can meet up, or we can exchange numbers so that we can speak and text. I am looking for fellow bandsters that would like to cooperatively blog about the journey and offer support to each other. I am being banded on December 7th, 2011. I would like to pair up with someone that is being banded around that time as well. I am starting my preop diet on November 23rd and will start the blog at that point. I need help being accountable, so this will help me make it a habit. Let me know if you are interested. Thanks
  11. Hi, I have had friends that used stomach compression wraps after pregnancy to help with the unwanted stomach flab. Has anyone used this to help out with the saggy skin after weight loss? I'm not interested in using it as a weight loss tool but as a measure to reduce the chance of the skin sagging so badly while I'm eating right and exercising. Let me know. Thanks.
  12. Hi All, I am obviously new here. I have been lurking here since I began thinking about the surgery about 6 months ago.. Now that my surgery is nearing ( dec. 7th) I've decided to join. So here I am. I just told my mom last night and she hung up on me. I am just looking for support from people that understand. This is a brand new journey for me. I've been fat all my life and never had a problem with it. I've been avid in the plus size acceptance community for my entire life and I have been plus size modeling for over 10 years. I've teetered around 250-260 for most of my adult life. And I was comfy there. After a really bad break up I blew up to 295 and I am not happy with that. It's time to make a change and this is the time to do it. Since so much of my life has been tied up in being a big girl that its a bit scary to think of anything else. My goal is to get to a size 12 so I'm not leaving my plus size fam totally but it's still daunting. There your are. I've spilled my guts. And by the way, hello.
