  1. Day 3 after my surgery and things have been going quite well, up until just now. I was making my son some linguine and was testing to see if the noodles were done and without thinking I took 2 bites and swallowed one almost whole... a few minutes later I could feel things were not right and then thought to myself, did I just eat that??? So far, so good, I'm uncomfortable but I have not thrown up yet (i hope I don't). Clearly I'm going to have to be more careful when doing routine things like this. At least I know my band is holding things back
  2. Today is day 3 for me and I was only on a clear liquids for the first day (clearly doctors differ here too). I am drinking Protein shakes, but I feel that I am always drinking as I struggle to drink 2-3 liters of liquid to stay hydrated, and at the same time trying to get in my calories and protein. Yesterday I could only eat 800 calories with 2 shakes, a cup of soup, and juice. Do I focus less of calories and more of "feeling full" as I was not necessary hungry when I ate all of this.
  3. Glad to hear that things went well. I too was banded on the 22nd and things have gone well. I am in some discomfort and this is why I am awake at 3am. Now the slow transition to regular food begins. Good luck to you and a speedy recovery.
  4. I am currently on day 8 of 21 days of pre-op diet. My doctor explained to me that typically for females he recommends 2 weeks, but as a male weight is typically held around the torso, so I would need 3 week. I'm allowed 2 shakes and one bar along with 2 cups of vegetables, each day. (800 calories) I have to say that I am quite jealous of the people that are allowed a little variety in their meals, and those who have no pre-op at all. For the most part I can't complain as things have been going quite well. I have already lost 15 lbs and I just past the 1/3 mark, hooray!! Best of luck to all.
  5. Getting banded on November 22, and I just started my pre-op diet today. I am very excited.
  6. I just started today and I'm a little worried about how I'm going to get through the next 3 weeks. I'm allowed 2 Protein shakes, 1 protein bar and 2 cups of vegetables a day. The first day has gone well and I have not felt too hungry... I'll take each day as it comes. Best of luck to you all!
