  1.    Savannah26 reacted to a post in a topic: How Many Fills Have You Had ?
  2. I've had 4 fills, and the last one needed a little unfilling since I couldn't keep water down. I can't eat bread or pasta anymore which is fine if I were seeing results. I've been banded 6 months now, and haven't lost any weight. It's hard not to compare yourself to others, when it seems like everyone else loses weight.
  3. That doesn't look right. I can feel mine, but you can't see it protruding under my skin.
  4. It's been 9 days since I've been banded, and would very much enjoy one small glass of a nice Merlot. Too soon? Has anybody tried it and have any side effects from it?
  5. Have you had a glass of wine since your surgery? I was banded Dec 2nd, so it's been 9 days. I would love to have 1 glass of a nice Merlot, and was wondering if it was too early, or if it would hurt.
  6. I've been banded for 1 week and 2 days now. I would LOVE to have a cheeseburger, just a little one. I would drink water, exercise, forgo the fries and dessert.......just to have the taste of a small juicy cheeseburger.
  7. I was banded on Dec. 2nd. I've had tomato soup, cream of chicken soup and potato soup. I blended them and thinned the down, but the doctor said I could have them, and I've really enjoyed eating something other than protein shakes. Although the thing that made my protein shakes okay, is i blended it with caffeine free coffee and little bit of milk and it kind of tastes like a latte. Eating or hunger isn't a problem. My problem is sitting down and getting up because of the pain. I had a hiatal hernia that was repaired also. I also have GAD so my blood pressure has been sky high. Good luck to you. I know all doctor orders are different, but if the soups work for me, why wouldn't they work for you?
  8. How was Dr. Jay? I'm scheduled for the surgery December 1st.
  9. I can't believe I've made the decision to be banded. I'm scheduled for 12-1-11. I have a few concerns. Sometimes I get a little freaked out thinking about it, then I read all the wonderful comments on here, and it makes me feel so much better. I've had a relationship with food for years, an unhealthy one, but still a relationship that I'm kind of scared of losing. But, I'm also tired of it controlling my life. Fast food and pizza, love it! I'm scared of blood clots after the surgery since I have a family history of them. My doctor told me not to worry about them, that if I walked, clots wouldn't form. I am not telling anyone (other than my husband) that I'm having this surgery. I'm hoping I will be able to hide it from my teenage child, because I want to set an example of eating healthy and eating the right portion size, and not that if surgery was the right choice for mom, it will necessarily be the right choice for her in the future, if she gets fat. My screen name now is Lookaway.....as in Look away, I'm hidious (from a Seinfeld show). After loosing the weight, I'll have to change my screen name to Look at me now! No way will I be loading a picture right now!

  11. My family wouldn't approve either. My husband is the only one that knows. I'm not telling my teenage child, because I don't want to set the example that surgery is answer for her (in the future if she gets fat) since it's the answer for me. I'm geting banded 12-1-11. Good luck!
