  1. I'm 44 years old and have been struggling with my weight since the birth of my son, 21 years ago. I was always thin as a child, teen, and young adult. I've had a lot of stress in my life and the weight has just come on like crazy. I'm healthy for now, but am concerned about health implications. I want to avoid them rather than have to deal with them once they arrive. My mother had type 2 diabetes and was on insulin. My brother also had type 2 diabetes and had gastric bypass surgery. Five years post op and he has regained just about all of his weight. Do I want to look good again, sure I do...but mostly I just want to be healthy! I've dieted and just can't seem to stick to anything long enough to get this weight off. I'm seriously thinking about LapBand surgery...I welcome your stories...good and bad. Please share!
