After my band I was super filled with gas and it was so painful. They thought I was having a heart attack. I will bring this up to my doc and hopefully it won't happen so bad this time. Thanks for the support.
Your story sounds like mine. 3 handsome sons. Fibro diagnosis in 2009. Lap band in 2011. No luck with the band at all. I am having the band out and gastric sleeve done on March 24. I'm scared but I need to do this. Let's hope it helps this Fibro pain for us. Good luck.
Wow. Quite a journey so far!! I am also going for surgery the 24th. Maybe we can keep in touch and help each other!! I have always been overweight and have had a lap band for 2 years with no success. I feel like this is my last chance. We can do this right? I know how you feel about using your weight as a sheild and food as medicine. It's something I battle with too. Good luck!!
I have been banded for 2 plus years with little success so I am getting it removed March 24 and having the gastric sleeve done. I found the banding super painful ( and I've had 3 C-sections) so I am scared to go through it again. I feel like this is my last chance though, the breakthrough I have been needing. So I'm getting it done. I am too young to be this sick...I have fibromyalgia, sleep apnea and high blood pressure to name a few issues and Im only 31!!
Anyone else with fibro that had the gastric sleeve??
I started seeing my doctor July 2009 and had it put in sept this year. It was a long haul, and it depends on your doctor for how long it takes to get to surgery...
Awww, I feel so bad for you. I don't know if this is normal or not but I had had 3 c-sections before I was banded and the banding surgery was the worst pain I ever felt. Listen to your body, if it tells you something is wrong, go get help. Maybe a second opinion from a different doctor?? Hope you feel better soon. I know how you feel, I had my surgery sept 28, 2011, and it's a tough recovery, hang in there.
My first appt my doctor asked me questions about my lifestyle and what I ate. He weighed me and gave me info about the surgery. Then I had to keep a food journal just so we could both see what I was actually eating. This wasn't so he could judge me, it was just to see where I could improve my eating habits. Write down your questions and your doctor should answer them for you. I hope this helped...
2 months post op and 37 lbs?? thats amazing. I am 2 months post op and only down 20 so good on you. Anyway if you lose too fast your skin will show it. Just relax, your kicking butt!!
