  1. WOW... I could never imagine going thru hell and back then right back to hell. I wish you the best luck...
  2. I was told by my Dr during this time not to worry about calories so much. Remember this is not a diet. I know we are all used to that. Your stomach is going to tell you when you get your first fill when its time to stop eating. So right now, don't worry about it. Just eat the right foods and not too much. Actually you are lucky, I had to stay on liquid diet for two weeks after and now on the last part of my 3rd week on mush. I can start full food next week. If you have any questions, I would love to try and answer them! Keep me updated.
  3. I am also on my 3rd week and I was hungy the first few days but I just ate more small meals. I used a protein drink if I got hungry. I also found I could eat just about anything because I only have 1 cc in my band. I get my first fill Monday. I have been eating Cream Of Wheat with a little butter and pure sugar. Love it.. Cottage Cheese, Egg Whites with cheese, rocotta cheese and Diet Snapple and soup as a meal. I really have not found myself too hungry. What have you been eating? I was excited to start eating mashed potatoes but for some reason I relly dont like them as mush as I used to. My biggest hurdle has been not drinking during my meals. If you need to bounce anything off me, dont hesitate. Let me know how the Dr appt goes tomorrow!
  4. Doing great, down 26lbs and getting first fill Monday. I think Jersey hit the nail. It's best to stay away from soup now unless its a full meal. I have kinda sat same weight for a few days and I think that's due to not hitting the gym yet and no restictions yet. I am just looking forward to food and fill. LOL Thanks for the help all!
  5. I have started my mushed foods but with mush and going forward to regular food... What if I want Soup with a meal? Does that mean Soup IS the meal? I am told I can have a drink right up till the time I eat and then an hour after. So where does the soup aspect play in here? Someone please help. Thanks!

I never thought I would love Cream Of Wheat or Cottage Cheese this much. Day 2 Of the Mushy stuff and my mind is racing to find ideas to put in my blender... Woo Hoo
  8. I could have protein shakes, Creamy soup and all the juice I wanted. I was only on clear stuff for two days. You need protein! Call you DR!
  9. FYI the office that does the orientation will determine your BMI and help you with all the medical stuff needed. They are incented to help you get approved Good Luck,
  10. Hi Chill, Your primary doctor will give the insurance a note if you ask stating you need the surgery for your health. As far as insurance, you either have it covered or not. You will know when the Dr Office calls in the codes for the procedure. They might accept WW but will still put you on a restricted diet. Not sure how long but again if you gave the Office your insurace information, they will tell you at the oreintation if you are approved. Actually you can call your insurance company and give them the code. The code for Lapband is CPT 43770 Keep me posted and good luck
  11. As far as the Dietician, I think they work with the DR to get you to buy Vitamins, shakes and other stuff. Don't do it becuase they will suck you in like AMWAY. You only need to shrink your liver the two weeks before the operation! All the products you need are available at Taget, costco, GNC, Whole Foods, your grovery store and many more. I would consult with a/your NUT on this for sure. She or he will help you though the entire journey if they are good! So you know, the two week pre op diet is not about calories or carbs ( you will get Protein during this time from shakes).. So don't worry when you get to that point. The little secret about Insurance and WLS is very interesting. The reason they want you to start on a 6 month diet plan (which you only need to do this 2 weeks prior for medical reasons) is because by that time, the insurance company has paid for the procedure with your premiums. Or better yet, they will hope you are so successful you won't want the surgery and they can save even more money. Insurance companies are only about the Benjamin's.. They suck. In any case, do what you need to get the surgery! It is so worth it! Keep usupdated! Best wishes.
  12. I will be starting on regular food next week. I am on mush... I was banded same day as you but my Dr said real food does not start until the 4th week. Congrats and keep in touch!
  13. I used the Choc ones from Costco and they were alright. Don's buy the Vanilla YUCK!!
  14. Only thing its a pain that you have to keep editing it.. LOL good Luck...
  15. Do you by chance excersize?
  16. Thanks everyone. I have not had my first fill so I think my stomach may be less sensative but I am doing all mushies and for lunch I had tuna salad and a little cottage cheese. Tonight I went ahead and made mashed potatoes and put Miller Farm Chicken sausage in the bullet and then mixed that in with the Potatoes with a little ketchup and salt.!!! It isnt too bad!! I did forget today to not drink with my meal so I am striking that up to old habbits. Thanks everyone. I go for my first fill on Monday! Ps I tries chicken in the blender and Yuck its sick. Im gonna try smashing meatballs tommorow! I have cream of wheat too which I loved as a kid. Cant wait for regular food.
  17. IC, Can you give me some mushies you are doing. I am starting tommorow. I also and going to head to the gym again next week!
  18. Hi everyone, Can you help on my Puree Days? Do I stop using my protein shakes? I have shopped for some items like Cream of Wheat, Cottage Cheese, Potatoes, Low Fat Mayo, Tuna and some other. How do I know how much to eat or calories, Carbs and should I now be taking a Multi-Vitamin? Also, do I need to Puree the Cotage Cheese? Should I get 2% or Low Fat? My Dr said not to worry about calories or any of that stuff for now but I am afraid I am going to gain weight. I have my first fill on the 31st.As of now I just have like 1 cc in my band. Any help would be so awesome.
  19. Nice! I am gonna head back next week. Let us know how it went!
  20. yea I have my card for emergencies but I would feel weird breaking it out in front of people. Mine was included in my pre op package and then the band info was given to me Post.
  21. I am also a gym person. I was told 6 weeks but I will not go back until I am getting food, protein and Multivitamins in me. I know my body and if I started Cardio and weight training, I would probably pass out. I am going to wait at least till 5th week. I am walking and doing what I can to make sure I am back in shape. Best Luck and Please keep us updated!
  22. More than likely it's the same incision I had below my breast plate and above my rib cage. It's just a more sensative area I think. I just now have releif and I had on the 11th. I am about 90% better now. Hollar if you need anything else!
  23. I had 4 small ones and one larger one for my port. Best Luck Keep Us Updated. Take the pain Med's if you hurt!! Walk as soon as you can and you did great!
  24. I was up and walking the hopital floors a few hours after. I would try and walk every few hours if you can. I was on med but this helped gas. But I can tell you I could not have gas relief until a few days after. Good Luck
