  1. I have 8 days before I start my liquid diet.. What are you guys eating/drinking during your liquid diet? Did anybody cheat on it? Were you tempted? Congratulations to everyone that has ha surgery already or will be in the next few days.. I am excited to have mine on the 25th. Debs my Skinny me, is more confident and likes to talk to people where as my Fat me is everything you posted as well.. I can't wait to get back to the real me again..
  2. I decided to have WLS about 4 years ago, due to the fact that we were living overseas though it was not an option.. So I tried WW online and I had a trainer, I even worked out with friends.. I moved to Jacksonville when my DH got orders to NAS JAX almost a year ago.. After purchasing our house and getting the kids in school I finally started looking into WLS again.. My defining moment came for me when I was a Girl Scout Leader and asking the Girls at meetings and camps to do things that I was physically unable to do. How can I expect them to do things that I myself could not do what kind of role model was that? I didn't want to be the fat girl in the corner at the clubs with her thin friends, or the Mom hiding behind her children in photos or just unhappy and unsociable anymore.. I tried taking care of myself and doing the things without surgery but I never lost more than 20lbs.. Now that I have gone through the preliminaries for the surgery I know I have to change my relationship with food and the decisions I make on what and how much I eat.. I have successfully lost 15lbs just by better food choices and no exercise.. I have started introducing exercise into my daily routine and hope that I see the scale moving again.. My surgery is scheduled for 1/25/12 and I can not think of a better way to look at being 35 then with being the me I have always known was inside that fat girl, this skinny b***h is ready to come out! LOL
  3. Hi I am PRE Surgery, I will be having the VSG done in 28 days.. I am excited to finally be close to the end of the surgery journey and the beginning of everything else.. I am also starting to get nervous.. LOL
  4. Thanks everyone for answering my question.. I guess as it gets closer to the surgery date I am just getting nervous.
  5. I have a question for everyone that is choosing VSG, why VSG over RNY.. Several people in my group (yes I know everyone is different) opted for VSG in the beginning but by surgery they chose to have RNY instead.. I believe that for me I am choosing the right surgery because I have no co morbidities that RNY would correct, I do have high cholesterol and they are watching my blood pressure as I am on the verge of having high blood pressure. Anyways today I am just having a second guessing of the type of surgery I chose. Thanks everyone for listening
  6. I am being sleeved on 1/25/12~!~ I am super excited, I have been trying for 3 years to lose the weight and for 2 years i have been researching WLS.. now it is almost at the end, which really will be the beginning and I am so excited!! I am starting to get a bit worried and nervous though, I know this is only natural...
  7. I FINALLY got a date today!! So excited!! My date is 1/25/12!! Best of luck to everyone!
  8. .. put this in the wrong place, sorry
  9. COngratulations, doesn't it feel great to start the process? Wishing you the best of luck! Heather
  10. Yeah I am moving forward..I have been set up for the 8 week Ship Shape program... I am going to try and make the Meeting tonight, there will be a speaker there.. The 27th I have an appointment with the RN do open my file and talk to me about the process and everything I have to do.. This week I think I am suppose to have blood drawn while fasting, not looking forward to that.. I know it needs to get done though. Another small issue I have is I hate DRIVING on the freeway, 7 years ago I was in a car accident and both cars involved were totaled. Thankfully no one was majorly injured, but since then I have lived in Japan and haven't had to really drive very far or on a freeway..Now though I live in Florida and I need to get use to it. I am scared to death to be doing this on my own as my DH is out of town this week.. I know I need to conquer my fear, when I first got here (NAS Jax) I had a panic attack driving the rental car back to the airport.. LOL.. ok ok..off my little box.. just excited that I am moving forward!
  11. Hi, My name is Heather and I am at the very beginning of my Journey.. My DH is Navy and we live in Florida he is stationed at NAS JAX.. I have had the General Surgery Consult where the Dr has said I am a candidate for WLS and I am waiting for the Nurse to return my call for the next step in my Journey..
  12. Class of '96 here!.. 33 years old.. I have been battling weight since having my first child in 97, along came #2 in 99 since then it has been a constant struggle. Not one I ever had to contend with before. No surgery date as I just was approved for all the pre stuff today.. Calling on Monday to make my first appointment because the Nurse was not at her desk when I was in the office or when I called later that day.. I live in Orange Park Florida and looking to connect with anyone going through, been through, considering etc.. WLS
  13. This thread has been a bit in active. However I thought i would jump on.. I just received the go ahead from m Dr today to start the Counseling/Program etc to have WLS surgery. I am leaning towards the VGS which is how I found this form. I live in Orange Park, just moved here in January. My husband is in the Navy & I will have my procedure done by Military Doctors, I am guess at NAS JAX. Husband supports me 100% and I am looking towards a better, happier, fitter life with my children.. (girl ages 12 & 14)
