Hello,

My name is Marlana. I had lap band surgery in March 2008. I have had 3 fills since then. About a month ago, I started experiencing horrible heartburn and pain in my stomach. The heartburn was so bad, I would be awaken by a dead sleep and couldnt breathe. I would choke on the heartburn. It was so scarey. I was in so much pain I went to the local ER. Numerous test where done and they found calcifications on my liver and port. Within a couple days I say my lap band doctor and he removed all the saline. I started to feel better. I then had a upper endoscopy done. The gastro doctor found a hiatial hernia and barretts esophagus. Im currently waiting for the biopsy results to come back. I am very scared that this could be cancer. I have done lots of research and it let me here. Im not happy to hear that this could be a long term problem due to the lap band.

hello, I have been banded now for 4 years and had a revision a year ago. the new doctor I see is wonderful. the old doc tighten me so much that I got sick. I wasn't getting the nutrition I needed. my new doc told me that if I get gurgling at bedtime the band is too tight. it could actually cause more harm than good. if I was you I would call my doc and have some taken out.
