Yay! I heard from my primary care doctor, therapist and psychiatrist today. They all are in enthusiastic support of my decision to get a VSG, and with the doctor I've chosen in Mexico! Wow. Didn't expect so much positive feedback from them. I'd been worried about how they'd react. It's fantastic! Full steam ahead now
This came across my twitter feed today. I know it's very relevant to feelings I'm having regarding upcoming VSG and so thought it could be for many of you too! Enjoy!

i have a surgery date scheduled for 9/22/2011 w/ Dr. Aceves. i'm in Bellevue. very excited and would love to touch base with some of you now that you're some months out...please feel free to PM me or reply to this post! Karen
I have surgery scheduled for 9/22 with Dr. Aceves in Mexico. I'm self-pay and cost is a huge issue. I have a friend, an RN, who had lap-band in Mexico with Dr. Joya 5 years ago and is still very pleased with her experience. I have the support of my primary care doctor, my psychiatrist, and my therapist on this decision. Very excited!
Hi everyone:
I'm 55 and scheduled for surgery on 9/22. As with many of you, my main concern is recovery time due to age. Plus, I have 8.5 year old twins! Nonetheless, very exited to have a real way to address my long-standing food issue: quantity!
Looking foward to our exchanges!
