    I wonder why? Laparoscopic procedures have the lowest incidence of DVT of ALL surgeries combined. You might want to show him the following link and ask for a genuine medical reason for putting in a filter. The filter alone can cause complications and they don't always prevent DVT's. Why do another procedure unnecessarily? If he can't give you a valid reason, I would consider going some where else. http://www.medpagetoday.com/Cardiology/VenousThrombosis/21600
