About Me

  • Gender
    Female
I have lost and gained weight more times than I want remember.  I have been a fat weight loss expert who loves to exercise. Losing the weight was never the probelm.  Keeping it off was.  I decided it was time to take the extra step. It wasn't until after years of researching and finally meeting with a surgeon that I reaized the lap band was for me.  My plan was to take the band out when I was done.  When the doctor told me that I would gain my weight back if I did, the light went on in my head.  The lapband was exactly what I needed given my history.  Of course, without serious health issues my insurance was not going to pay.  My mental health was suffering.  I have been very, very fortunate to have a wonderfully supportive husband to help me make these tough personal decisions.  It has been one and a half weeks since surgery.  I knew this wasn't going to be a magic pill and that I had some serious mental changes I was going to have to make.  I feel good today knowing that I am on a new journey.  I have been blessed with emotional support I need at home.  Thank Goodness!  However, I know from life's experiences that I need more support and am looking for a place to communicate with others in my same boat.
