  1. I am 1 week PostOp and feeling good! I went to Puget Sound Surgical Center and really had a great experience there. I went with Dr. Landerholm. I highly suggest them, and research will show he is very accomplished in his field. I was lucky and my surgery was paid for by insurance, 38% BMI with co-mormidities. I have several co-workers who have had the lap band done and have done well with that. What I really like also about Dr. Landerholm is his attitude that the sleeve is only a tool and it is only as good as you work it. He also requires a 2 year nutrition program to help use this wonderful new tool. While my budget is very tight I felt the cost of the nutrition program will be worth every penny. How did you like the seminar? Kari
  2. For my 52nd birthday I got a Sleeve!!! I am 6 days post op and working through the liquid diet waiting for that wonderful puree'd food. Actually can't wait. LOL. I have the concerns of where skin will hang, wings, will I look older and that OMG I don't ever want to gain weigh again. BUT!! I will get to buy clothes that are cute, walk and hike, find more things I like to do that are active! Feel better about myself!!!! Anyone 50+ and in Washington state? Enjoy the journey
  3. Hi, I am day 6 post op and splurging on the yummy liquid Protein diet week. Can't wait for some puree'd food. LOL. My feeling on your question is that having the surgery is the "tool" to help us restrict our food. Our stomachs can get big so why not fill it? I did. Right now I really recognize when I have had just enough. Granted I am only 6 days out, but I will tell you, I don't want to take that one more drink, because I have, and I don't feel good. Nothing severe, just that overfull feeling that we don't like to get on Thanksgiving. My six holes are a little sore, but you are sound asleep when they do them. The only one I felt was the IV. I am tired and rest when I feel like it. And totally excited to see where this tool takes me!! Normal, I never will be!! But boy, I am excited for that first shopping trip when I can go into a store and buy clothes that are cute. Good luck!!!!
