  1. I am six days out of surgery, go to Dr tomorrow to have the drain removed.... I am on clear liquids for 2 weeks .period. then I move to purreed for 2 weeks..... the warm chicken broth is wonderful.. it fills me up but i love the warmth. I am walking more and more everyday. Still very sore and need help getting up and down off recliner and bed. I am thinking I will take a 3rd week off work, just to get stronger and to be able to try on some clothes before Monday Best of luck to you....it will get better
  2. YES! you are doing it for the right reasons. I myself told only 3 people and let them all believe they are the only ones I told. My surgery was on Tues 9.27.11 Feeling better every day. It is YOUR choice to tell people, I did not due to the response I got when I told my boss and her mouth flew open and she said WHY??? Frm then on I kept it tomyself with only me and hubby knowing about it. BEST decision I made. Also, red the forums, you will get very good advise, maybe even a DR in that area... do a search on the town, ask your PCP. Call your ins for a Dr referral. Just some hints. You didn the hardest thing and that was making the fist step to get the ball rolling, it is all downhill from here/ it was like 8 weeks from the time I visited the Surgeon, to my surgery date, yes you will question yourself, like my Dr told me, if I did not I wuld not be normal. READ READ READ... this is a GREAT Support group. Best of luck to you.... and you will be in my prayers.
  3. Very inspiring..... Congrats!!
  4. 9.27.11 surgery date.......... and doing better every day! Thanks for doing this!
  5. I bet we all do fine... I know we are all feeling the same things.... I had to go into see surgeon today I was so nervous and happy at the same time, he said if I was not acting the way I was, I would not be normal....so I guess we are all normal.. Started liquid diet today.... (no comments) It will all be worth it. WE CAN DO THIS! Our surgery dates will be here before we know it.
  6. Congrats! I got my date also.... they wanted to do it on the 20th... but I got scared and pushed it back a week, so it will be on the 27th... NOW I am wishing I would have left it on the 20th... and ALL the Jitters, Happiness, Worries, Happiness and all the other emotions are running through my head. Deep in my heart IKNOW I have to do it for ME! Please keep us posted.
