Port Site Looks "Sunken in"?!?!
Yeah I have the same thing. It looks like a crater or indent right?? Was banded 8/24 and I still have it. It doesn't hurt, but that incision is the one that is healing the slowest. Mine now actually looks like it has some bruising on the top of it even though it doesn't hurt. It's really weird. I'm glad someone else has something similar. I go to the doctor 9/13 so I'm going to ask then why it looks that way.

When did your bandages/tape come off?
Thank you all for replying! So I ended up just taking off the larger piece of tape that was covering each incision. Underneath that it looks like a suture is holding the incision closed so I left that part on. I got all queezy looking at it so I had to put my shirt back on!!! hahaha Some of the incisions look fine. 2 of them like they were bigger and more significant incisions that the others. Thanks again everyone for your info!

When did your bandages/tape come off?
I am on day 10 post-op. My incisions are still covered. They are starting to peel a bit and look funky and I am worried about infection. When did you remove your tape from your incision? Thanks for your help.

Protein Drinks - which ones?
For my 2 week liquid diet before surgery I used the Bariatric Advantage chocolate flavored drink which I thought was very good. I mixed it with Water or skim milk. The milk gave it a little more flavor and made it slightly thicker. For my first week post-op, I am using Isopure. The flavor is Strawberries and Cream. Mixed with water it doesn't taste bad at all and it is filling which is good. For my post-op second week, I just plan on using whatever I have leftover from the two mixes above. No sense in going out and buying something new since I like both of them.

How much weight did you lose on the pre-op diet
I lost 23 lbs in my first week of my liquid only pre-op diet. I am now on day 11 and won't weigh in again until the day of my surgery on 8/24. Diet consisted of the required 3 shakes and 2 protein bars per day. Was allowed as much sugar free jello, crystal light, water, skim milk, and broth as I wanted. My results have been on the high end so far, but that is because I have so much to lose.

August 2011 Bandsters????
Getting banded 8/24. On day 5 of my 14 day liquid diet. It's very hard for me. 3 Protein shakes and 2 Protein Bars per day required by doctor. All the jello/broth/water/skim milk/crystal light that I want. Cheated a few times but it's less than I thought I would. Have been getting better every day. Will be getting more strict once I get to 10 days before surgery. Everyone on here is saying how they are excited, unfortunately I don't feel that way YET. I'm very nervous about how life will be after the surgery. Seems like everything revolves around food. lunch meetings for work, dinner with friends, drinks with friends, family dinners, the list goes on and on as you all know. My state of mind is that I am very embarassed and ashamed of letting myself get to this point. I have only told one close friend about the surgery. His words were "would you rather be fat and embarassed or have the surgery and lose weight and be embarassed". Seems easy when worded it like that. Keeping it to myself because I don't want any attention. Also worried about if things go wrong or don't go as well as expected. Reading peoples stories on this website has been very helpful and encouraging. I am so happy for everyone as they seem so excited for a new chapter in their lives. I know I will feel the same way soon. I've had surgeries before due to injuries so I'm not worried about that aspect. Just going to take a lot of work on my part to change everything I've been doing my entire life. Hearing peoples success stories is great motivation to get their myself. Congrats to everyone who has been banded this month and good luck to everyone else who has their big day coming!

Bathroom Issues
First of all, I apologize to anyone/everyone for inquiring about this but I can't find anything about it on the site. I am on day 3 of my 14 day liquid diet leading up to my surgery. My doctor has required me to drink 3 meal replacement shakes and eat 2 protein bars (doctors office supplied all of this) per day. Not sure if it is the shakes or the bars (or broth or jello), but I have been going to the bathroom 8-10 times per day. Has this happened to anyone else? What did you do? Today is Friday so the doctor office is closed, but I plan on calling the doctor Monday to see if there is anything I can do. Thanks for any responses and again, I apologize for the not so fun topic.
