Thanks for all the well wishes . Yeah the first day after surgery was kind of rough but once you get past the first couple days it gets better. Just gotta hang in there I guess.

Hi everyone, I am relativley new here. I just had surgery on monday 8/15/11 for lap band with plication at Duke Raleigh Hospital with Dr Jin Yoo. The surgeon also had to repair a large Hiatal hernia that was larger then they thought. I am doing good now but the second day was a bit rough in the morning when I let my pain meds run out too long. Still taking pain meds today but only once today and feeling really good actually. Day 3 was also very good and I held down 80 grams of Protein and Im up to about 40gs today so far. The liquid diet has been easy for me so far(have to do a full 21 days). I almost feel like its hard to fit all I need to fit every hour since the plication made my stomach smaller. The doctor said that if I dont do good and lose the weight he'll have to remove the band since the hernia will come back. So far I am tackling this journay very well and I am prepared to do everything they ask to not have this hernia crop up again. I just feel blessed that I made it through alive and am here to share more of my life with my wonderful wife and three awesome kids. I hope everyone else is doing thier best as well and keeping happy. Nice to be here and I am excited to track my progress with you all!

Hi guys had my band + plication done on the 15th and it went good but they had to repair a large hernia too which was larger then they expected. First day after surgery was a bit rough but today I feel pretty good. Doc says if I dont lose the weight though the band will have to come out because he said I will just develop the hernia again. I need to lose about 85 to 90 pounds.

And recovery was good?

I am scheduled to have lap band with plication on aug 15th with Duke Raleigh hospital. How was your recovery? Was there alot of swelling and pain? I read a lot of lap band surgery stories on these forums and they all sound pretty good in terms of recovery but there arent many recovery stories with the plication added. Thanks!
