  1. I was banded on 9/27 and have lost 71 lbs total but 54 lbs since surgery. This past month has been a struggle with food but am still exercising about 6 days a week, mostly running. I just went to 7cc yesterday in my band but can still get anything down and have never been stuck. It would be nice if I could no longer get breads and such down, but oh well. I wish I felt different after a fill, but I don't. I feel as if I'm at the same restriction as I've always been. This is where I have to rely on my self control and not this band. I don't really do a lot of carbs and get in at least 80 gr of Protein a day. I was eating about a cup of food at a time and a lot of snacking these past couple weeks, but I've finally reigned myself back in. I try to stick to 1/2 c per meal and if I need a snack then I have one. My usual day is starts with coffee. Then a couple hrs later I'll have 1 scrambled egg with turkey sausage crumbles and a tbsp of lowfat cheese for Breakfast. I might have a Chobani greek yogurt for a snack. lunch is usually a chicken burger and cheese, turkey burger and cheese, or skinless chicken breast without bun, or tuna fish with fat free mayo and a salad. If I need a snack its turkey pepperoni or peaches or a Primal meatless Jerky stick. dinner is shrimp, or pizza using a Flat-Out with turkey sausage or turkey pepperoni, or turkey meatballs, or baked salmon and a veggie. If I'm on the go I'll grab a ready to drink Premier Protein shake. A lot of time I don't get my veggie in because I know I've already eaten my portion so I make sure I take my Vitamins. My problem is the same as its always been, eliminating the junk food snacking in between meals. I still have some treats in the house for my kids and hubby and the key is not turning to them when I'm bored or just mindless eating.
  2. Today makes 3 weeks post op for me. The day of surgery I was 247.7. I weighed in at 230.4 today, down 3.0 lbs from last week. When i first started in July at the consultation I was 264.5. I'm just starting to feel back to normal, pain free. Thank goodess. I'm still on pureed for another week then onto soft for 3 weeks. No fill for me unil the 17th of Nov. No need to fill down about having more than others to lose. You will lose it. You have started the journey to long lasting health. Be patient with yourself and try not to talk down about the awesome changes you're making. You'll get there'd in time. We all can!
  3. I had a little bump around a different incision that was itchy. It stopped a couple days after surgery though. I assumed it was the bandage irritating the skin. I was banded on 9/27 and i feel i have significant port pain also. Mine is not the incision, it's where the port is. I can see and feel my port because i just don't have a lot of tummy fat. I don't know if that's the problem but if it's not gone 3 weeks post op I'll call the doc. I cant really reach above my head or bend over without pain. Walking is painful because of the use of the Ab muscles which moves the port.
  4. Thanks so much. At least i know what i need to do, relax and stop going for walks. I dictate chores around to my kids but then i think if I just do it myself it'll get done quicker. No more of that. Hubby and kids will have to take care of it.
  5. Thanks all. I think I have been overdoing it with the bending and all the walking and other housework. I've been naughty a couple times and have picked up my 2 yr old even though im not supposed to lift him for 6 weeks. I feel fine first thing in the morn until i get out of bed and start picking up and cooking and so forth. I will take it easy from now on. Thanks!
  6. Hi All, I'm 11 days post op and just wonder if anyone is feeling what i am. I still have a good amount of pain not at my incision sites but my actual port location. I can see my port, i can feel it, and it is very uncomfortable. I haven't taken pain meds in days because all i have left is liquid Tylenol. Bending over hurts, reaching arms above my head hurts. Ive been going for walks just about everyday, just 30 mins, but that hurts. I was doing 3-4 miles a day and now it's 1.5. Just wondering if it's normal? If so, i can deal with it. Thanks.
  7. I have a BodyFit which is just like the Body Bugg. It was $200 at costco and worth every penny. I've been using it since about March and i love it. The first yr of we access was free compared to buying it somewhere else tha was a great deal because it's usually $7 a month for the web access. Today, Tuesday, was one week post op and i was able to move to full liquids, thank God. I got on the scale and I had lost 10.3 lbs in that one week! I was very pleased. I started walking at least 30 min a couple days ago and plan to do so everyday until I am able to get back to my regular workouts. My shoulder pain left yesterday, another thanks to God because that was awful. My doc also said no hard workouts that are going to involve the abs for 6 weeks.
  8. Good job going for a walk. I walked around a store a little the second day, but not IKEA. That think is massive :-) I didn't have a sore throat at all, but was expecting to have one. i had heard so many stories about it. I didn't think they put a tube down there since I couldn't feel the difference but my hubby says they did. I'd say try lots of warm liquids, that always seemed to ease my throat when I had a cold. I'm still have the gas/shoulder pain. Its so annoying. I'm going for walks and moving around the house, but still its not clearing up. I tried to go without my pain meds, but couldn't do it. I did try over the counter Adult Liquid Tylenol and it helped some and didn't make me sleepy like the Roxicet does. Banded 9/27.
  9. Thanks. I will stayboff the scale for a liitle while. Wont go to full liquids until Wed. Now I'm only getting in about 250 calories a day!
  10. Hi all, Was banded on the 27th. Im only 4 days post op and feel pretty good except for the shoulder pain. Im not really finding much relief, but oh well. The pain meds work but then im out of commission for a couple hours so this morning I'm trying to do without.
  11. Had surgery on the 27th and I'm still having shoulder pain. If it weren't for the gas pain i wouldnt need the liquid pain medicine. The incision pain isn't that bad. But I made a mistake and got on the scale. I havent lost an ounce in three days. That was disappointing. But oh well. I think my body thinks it's starving because I'm on clear liquids only so I'm only getting in about 250 calories a day.
  12. I'M only 3 days post op and yes im tempted. I have to prepare food for the rest of my family so it's hard. I'm on clear for one week then full for a week. Then pureed. I won't have regular food until 9 weeks post op. But my surgeon said the people that are most successful with the lap band are the ones that can follow the rules the first few weeks post op. That was enough motivation for me to stick to the rules.
  13. Same here. I knew about my hernia but had no clue they were going to fix it. They told my husband they fixed it for free. I have to stay on Clear liquids for a week. I feel pretty weak too but when i move onto full liquids I hope to feel better.
  14. The gas pain is still bothersome but I'm home. I've been walking around, trying to get some relief. Other than that I'm feeling great!
