  1. Hello Girl, guess what I started my process 2/10/10 and I just had surgery 1/26/11 so yes eventhough your surgery is two months out, 6 months is alot less time than most of us had to wait. Use that time to pray and work on your mind! Because that is one of the major things to worry about and try not to party so much around the food because after surgery parties are going to still take place and you will have to eat different. I have my first test this weekend with superbowl Sunday, the surgery was practically painless for me and I only had to take pain medicine one day plus I had to have my gallbladder removed! So use that time to change your mind about food! We eat to live and not live to eat! Praise God! He is Awesome and He will see you through and I am here for all support who knows I may need your support! Lol
  2. I am 10 days post op and it was practically painless for me! When I first looked into weight loss surgery I refused to do the RNY it was to dangerous sounding and did not want the lap band because I did not want a foreign object left in me. The doctors than told me about the sleeve, I prayed and God showed me this was so right for me because I had to do something. You see I have been overweight since birth, so I was not like some who have been skinny in the past and now were trying to get back to that. I remember weighing 180 in junior high so I never really felt my weight until I turned 40 and my knees started to ache, back, etc. This is one of the best decisions Ive made to date! You can do it! Ill support you thru it, hey we can support one another because I know I have some bumpy days ahead as well! God Bless
  3. Good for you, i am 7 days post op and cant get pass the gas and i have a constant chest pain that does not come and go, but feels like i pulled something or major gas under my breast. I have called the doctor but because of the ice storm we have no one is working. I pray it passes!
  4. That is great news! I am 6 days post-op and wanna be like you when I grow up, no CPAP!
  5. Any advice to get 70 grams of protien and 6 glasses of liquids w/three meals, bec I am struggling. Help!
  6. Hello everyone, I am 6 days post op and really struggling to get my Fluid and protien in. I know every doctor says something different but mine wants at least 70 gr of protiens and 6 glasses of liquid. After surgery that shake is so hard to get down and because I have to sip slowly its hard to get my Water in. I feel like i am drinking all day and most days dont get my third meal in. Any advice?
  7. Great job!!! I have lost 17lbs on day 9 of my pre-op diet. I can not wait until my surgery on 1/26/11. For those of you that pray send some up for me!
  8. Thank you, and keep praying because God is so awesome! I have lost 17lbs on my pre-op diet so far which is very exciting! I am down to 266. Have you been sleeved? If so how are you doing?
  9. I haven't had my surgery yet but have thought about all these things. Thanks because while I am in my pre-op I am really praying about these topics, while also praying about who I can trust to really support me and not judge me for this life changing decision. If you have any suggestions on how to deal with these feelings that would be great but right now I am just really trusting God for comfort and solutions. I have even practiced going to eat out with my best friend and my husband eating only what is required of me and although I had to ask my husband not to order one particular dish, I did very well with socialization and eating only what I could on my pre-op. I praise God for that! I know there will be many more adventures such as vacations, holidays etc... But with change requires change, so I have to do it! I pray everyone else does the same.
  10. Thanks for the excited journey! I am excited for you and can't wait until I join you on this same journey. Great Job!!!!!!
  11. YES YOU CAN! Also pray God changes your mind!! We can all do this. I am on day 5 and just refocusing on the whole food thing helps!
  12. Getting sleeved 1/26/11 in Indianapolis, In. God is soo Goood! I am excited and doing good on my pre-op! Everything will be great for us all!!!
  13. I would just like to introduce myself to everyone. My name is Mrs. Miles, I am 42 years old and I weigh 280lbs at 5foot 2inches and my highest weight has been 298. I am schedule for the Sleeve surgery on 1/26/11 at 9:30am. I am excited and I am currently on day 5 of my pre-op diet. I have done great and give all my glory to God who is giving me another chance and new start to be a healthier me! Sometimes I think about how others are going to view the smaller me because I have been plus size since birth! But, I won't know until I do it. I am married and have four sons and I am already cooking healthier meals for everyone and no one has eaten McDonalds in a week that I have bought, which feels different. I also noticed that when I was going out to eat, I was just used to spending money. Well my husband said, just save it for new clothes you will have to purchase. LOL! I can't imagine that it was about a year ago that I started praying and started this journey with the doctors, dieticians ect... I just wanted to say hello to everyone and look forward to chatting in the future.
