  1. According to my scale (standing on it naked) I've lost close to 25 lbs. How about you? Yes, according to my dr. I'm supposed to be eating only puree - no lumps, bumps seeds etc. (like thin pancake batter) from day 18 til day 28. Basically til the end of this month. I have tried a little of this and a little of that though. Not too much. I've been buying and drinking the Atkins Advantage Protein drinks and I like the Mocha Latte shakes. Wow...the 58 grams of protein sounds like a lot. A few times before I think I either drank too many Proteins at once and I got really really sick where I felt like I was going to pass out. My 8 yr. old daughter put a cold rag on my head and I felt like I was out for the count. I've learned to drink it much slower now. Just reading your comments was like I had written it myself. I called my husband and I read it to him because it was pretty much exactly how I felt. I was even in tears the other day too just because I dreaded meal time because even though I was hungry, nothing sounded good etc. Well, it's good to know I'm not alone and as everyone says, "It gets better." Have a great day! Polly
  2. Kelly, I swear, I was reading your post and I swear you were writing my story. I also was Sleeved July 20th and I also have this chest pain and shoulder pain. It actually sort of went away for a bit but now it's back and it's driving me crazy. I also don't feel like i'm getting enough fluids in and just the thought of more pureed foods is gagging me. Tomorrow I start back to work. I've been off work for the summer and I'm dreading to go back to work and having to bring my food (soup) to work etc. I think I won't be able to eat eat til at least the end of the month. What about you? I'm so glad you posted exactly what I've been feeling. I too was crying a bit the other day to my husband because I just want to pull my hair out. Thanks again for sharing your story! Polly
  3. I feel your pain! I had my surgery July 20th and I was in tears today because I just can't stand puree foods! I almost hate dinner time because I just can't find anything to satisfy me. Basically, the only things that have been going down for me is Adkins Protein drinks and tomatoe soup. It' just driving me insane. I really haven't been drinking as much as I should I know. Right now I feel like my esophogus is actually hurting. I feel if I lie down it gets worse. I took a Gas X and it's still bothering me. I just feel like I can't wait for this part of the recovery ends very soon. Any ideas of what I can eat that goes down well for meals? Good luck to you and I hope we can survive this part of our recovery.
  4. Hello, I had my sleeve done July 20th and I had a hiatal hernia as well that the Dr. fixed while he was in there. I can't really say I have any difficulty swallowing or anything now. I'm sure you'll be fine. Good luck to you! Polly
  5. When you finally ate puree foods did you fill up right away? The Dr. said to just eat for 30 min. and then to stop. I could barely eat for 20 min. and I think I was overly stuffed. Will that change? It's sooo weird that I'm just eating a little and then getting totally stuffed. Would love to hear from those that are way down the line on this process.
  6. The Dr. wants day 15 - 17 to be practically like liquids only like a thin pancake batter. Just slightly thicker. Even the puree sounds more liquidy than what you were describing. I could handle having tuna fish already. That sounds good actualyy. It's funny how some people didn't have to go through all this. I'm sure the dr. just wants to be safe but boy, it's about killing me to constantly drink everything.
  7. Does anyone have any great suggestions or recipes for being on puree foods? Right now I'm on light puree. It's getting old real quick though.
  8. I'm fine in that sense. Just sick of drinking fluids instead of eating.
  9. They said I'm not able to have Jello or pudding yet. Hopefully this wed. I'll be able to start on jello.
  10. Thanks Kelly. I've tried the product, Naked which is a Protein smoothie but all this is getting old. How do you add the weight loss tickers? I haven't mastered this website yet.
  11. After 11 days post op I'm getting sick of drinking...any suggestions on other things besides Adkins drinks and protein smoothies and soups? It's really getting old to me. I see the dr. this Wed. and I'm hoping I can start on purees. Any suggestions to keep me sane til then?
  12. Wow...good for you for losing 55 lbs.! That's wonderful. I've never heard of unjury chicken soup before. thanks for the great advice!
  13. How often do you have your alarm going off to remind you to drink? I need to do that too. Also, any great ways to get my 800 calories and my 50 grams of Protein in? I didn't get it in today. Today was my first full day at home and I need to do better tomorrow. Would love some advices on things to buy/eat.
  14. Thank you for your positive outlook. It's good to know it'll get better! Sorry, I'm still trying to figure out this website yet. I'm learning slowly but surely. Polly
  15.    PollyPoo reacted to a post in a topic: im seriously regretting this
  16. I am only 4 days post op and it's rough but I do see a light at the end of the tunnel. I had to be in the hospital for 3 days. I can't even imagine only spending 1 day in the hospital. Any words of wisdom on how to get 800 cal and 50 protein in. That's where I'm struggling now. I tried boiling milk, hot chocalate and some whey protein but it got all clumpy and I can't really drink it. Any advise on easier things to eat/drink?
