Hello, my name's Yetta. I'm 22 years old and from Mt. Olive, NC. I'm a Sophomore at UNC-Pembroke majoring in Biology (Zoology concerntration). My weight problem started when I was a little. I had severe asthma and was treated with steroids for many years. I started to have an insatiable hunger and I would eat fatty foods all the time. I've been on diets and they always seem to work temporarily then I fall off the wagon again for various reasons (boredom, hungry, illness, etc.). I would say about 4 years ago I heard about the Lap Band surgery and I didn't think much of it. Recently I started looking into it more and decided to go through with the surgery. I'm still young and I believe my weight is holding me back and taking a toll on my health. I hear the procedure is similar to the gall bladder surgery I had a couple years ago and that was a breeze. I was back on my feet the very next day...I shouldn't have been, but it was my neice's 1st birthday. lol I don't recommend anyone trying that.
