Hello All.
I am nicnic424. I currently live in Phoenix AZ. I have been married for 7 years to a wonderful man who serves in the USAF. I have not always struggled with my weight. It wasn't until 9 years ago that I started losing control of it. It started right after my husband and I lost our first child. I went into labor when I was only 5 months along and they really don't know what happened. After that I was diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome).
After several attempts of trying to lose the weight on my own, I saw my dr and they recommended the lap band. I had my surgery in August of 2009. Since then I have lost 52 pounds but I still have quite a ways to go. I joined this site because even though I have my family's support, I need people who understand exactly what I am going through. This has been a very bumpy road for me. To me, it feels like it has been complication after complication since Dec 2010. I suffered from esaphagus dialation and had to have majority of my band unfilled. It was left empty for about a month. Ever since then it has been like I'm starting over and has been a struggle.
