  1. I made it, I am now 198!!!!
  2. Hit 198 today, got banded one week ago, 7-5, lost 42 lbs since first orientation meeting!
  3. Good for you, keep up the good work!
  4. I was banded on 7/5 and all is well. I have had a very bad reaction to Coedine in the past and asked for liquid percoset, it worked very well. Even though I am not allergic, I always tell my Dr's about my bad reaction. If you have never Coedine, it is very hard on your stomach, can cause dry heavys and nausea, which is the last thing a new bander needs, and this reaction is very common. I only needed the pain med for a day and a half.
  5. I was banded 7/5 and no problems so far, just a slight sore throat immediately after the surgery. I cannot take coedine, I got liquid percoset, which tasted awful but worked well, I only took it the first 36 hours, really didn't need it after that. I have followed my pre-op diet exactly as directed and lost 12 lbs. I have also followed my post op diet and feel great. Quick tip: Partially freeze your protien shake, tastes like ice cream! I am looking forward to my first Dr's visit and mushy food. I have measured 2 oz of blended melon and put it in my freezer, when I can eat it I plan on mixing it with unsweetened apple juice for a healthy snack. I read on-line that we should think of our stomach as a sink, if you fill it too quickly it will overfill. Trying to get in 40-50oz of liquids is not easy, I have learned to take many small sips of liquids. Had a little gas, but walking helps. Went to a craft fair yesterday & did a small amount of yard work today. Lost 40 lbs since April, hit 200 today, can't wait to join the 100+ club!
  6. Congratulations!! I am hovering the 201-203 range (3 days post op) I will post when I get there. Keep up the good work!!!
  7. Got banded Tuesday 7-5, 2 days in, so far so good, BUT I cannot get this Iodine off my body! Soap and water doesn't do it, tried baby wipes, and nothing. I don't want to try anything harsher. Help!!
  8. My surgery is July 5th, I decided next spring I am going to get a puppy. This gives me time to plan for him/her and get into dog walking shape.
  9. First time posting here, nice to find a group like this. Surgery date is 7/5/2011, 2nd day on pre-op diet, lost 26 lbs since I started this journey 3 months ago, keeping a log of weight, food and exercise. BMI in begining 46, now 41, vary happy with progress so far. I have found protein shakes that I just love. A little nervous and excited at the same time.
