    Almost! To Onederland

Thank you so much for your ideas and thoughts. I have struggled some this summer but want to get back on track. So great to hear about your success. It is kinda interesting...Im 5'6 with same goal weight and same bougie size. I like your idea of changing plan when needed and I also weigh every Thurs. I went months and months without weighing in great denial. What exactly is the 5 day pouch test? Thanks again for sharing....it helps!! Congrats on being in the 1xx....what an accomplishment!!

    Almost! To Onederland

Hey, way to go. We both almost have the same sleeve date and starting weight. I got sleeved on Dec. 20, I haven't lost as much as you....71 pounds.....but that does feel good. I'm curious what your eating looks like now. What are your meals like? Still drinking water? What things are helping you succeed? I would just love to be under 200. I'm just so happy for you!!
  3. I was also worried about the pain but everything was so much better than ever imagined. After 2 lapband slips, I'm so glad to have the sleeve. Tylenol helps so much and folllow instructions precisely. So far so good for me. best of luck!
  4. Finally am going to get my revision which I am really excited about but not quite sure what to say at work. I feel so shameful, I know I shouldn't, but do I tell the truth or make up something?? It will be over 2 week Christmas break but I will be gone a few days before and then more? I think it might have something to do with how I failed to lose weight with the band......so what if this also fails or something happens. Thanks!

    Another bump in the road

I know your feeling of discouragement. After 8 months and 2 denials, I finally got the ok from my insurance. I was actually really surprised and didn't realize how depressed and frustrated I was until I got approved. I would encourage you to hang in there and keep trying. Things happen that you'd never think would. wishing you best of luck!
  6. After jumping through all the hoops this summer and spending a substantial amount of money, my insurance has denied my request for revision to sleeve. Reason: "excludes gastric sleeve procedure and , therefore, it is not covered benefit under your Presbyterian benefit plan." I don't really understand why they didn't tell me this in the first place. they would just say "we have to get the info from your doctor, then we decide". Anyone have any experience with this? I'm so disappointed. I was hoping for Christmas surgery date. Thanks all!
  7. I am going thru the psych deal you have to and wondering how to word what I need. Im afraid he will just say you failed with the band so what makes you think you'll do better with the band?
  8. I have had the band -2 times now- and have had no success. ABsolutely none. So in the beginning stages of looking at sleeve. Have read some about Mexico doctors. Wonderng if anybody has experiences with doctors in Denver or Albuquerque. I don't know if insurance will pay again (they paid for one lapband). Also curious if get it done in Mexico if something happens back here, some complication....will insurance help with it?? Thanks for any help....
  9. I have had no success with the band. It slipped and I had another surgery and now it just feels horrible. I have not lost any weight. I wonder if they take out the port also when they do the revision. I ask because when I got my second surgery the doctor was very careful NOT to mess with the port because of the "scar tissue" that was there and it would be very painful. I'm so discouraged and so shameful that it hasn't worked for me. I'm also getting so old - 57. Anyway, brand new here so any advice is welcome. thanks! Hi nAN, Welcome to VST My revision was 90 minutes, though I didn't have any band relating issues either so I was lucky and it helped. I did have nausea after for a few days but subsided quickly (TG because I hate nausea). The first month is tough, not gonna go lightly here BUT that one month of struggles is so worth it now. I love my sleeve SO MUCH and it truly has saved my life. Are there any specific questions you might have? There's a ton of information!!! Good luck on your journey! You will get to goal no doubt about that.
