  1. I'm certainly feeling some depression right now! Thanks for this post. I will be going to the support groups in hopes to feel much better about not being able to eat what I want. I wish I had more support at home but I will seek alternatives and becoming a member of this forum is a start. Sleeved 5/31/2011 and feel overwhelmed by not being able to eat.
  2. I was sleeved also May 31st and wish I felt great. I think I'm missing food too much and my stomach is producing too much acid. I was on the clear liquids but felt hungry as hell. The hunger pain is very discouraging because I thought I wouldnt feel that since that was supposed to be removed. So today I blended some noodles an chicken and ate 1/4 cup and felt like I ate a watermelon! For me now my problems is my stomach feels so much pressure and I wish it would go away soon. I've been feeling some regrets but I've lost 7lbs so far so I need to stay encouraged. I have a question for you if you dont mind answering. Have you had a bowel movement yet? If so, is it solid or runny? I'm asking because before I was discharged I had a terrible BM and every since it has been runny. Also I'm having some bleeding but a lot of women have said they experienced the same thing. Have you? I'm not completely happy yet but looking forward to it. I'm walking now but my wounds still hurt. good luck and please keep us inform on your progress. Thanks
  3. Thanks all! This forum has been so helpful in this transition thus far... I think the anesthia has made my cycle come early because I'm having a lil flow now but I may have the UTI as well but I have no pain. There is a lil burning but I also developed a yeast infection prior to surgery from the antibotics I was taking. I'm going to give it a few more days and just pay close attention. Thanks so much! I pray all of you are doing well.
  4. I think I do need the acid reducer because my stomach sounds like a battle field inside. I'm going to buy something today to see if this helps. I remember being in the hospital and they were giving me pepcid ac in my IV and my stomach wasn't feeling like this. Thanks
  5. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out if there is blood in my urine or if I have just started my cycle early. Its 4 days out and now I see blood but my cycle is not due til around the 9th or 10th of this month. I have been wearing a pad but no show of blood until I urinate. Is this common?
  6. I'm on day 3 and feeling very hungry in spurts! I thought that that was the point of removing the part of the stomach that keeps you from feeling hungry. Am I wrong? I'm on the liquid diet but feel like I'm about to go crazy! First of all I need to take antibotics that taste horrible so crushing them makes me nausea when I attempt to get it down. I tried mixing them in a smoothie but that didnt work either! How am I supposed to take these meds without throwing up? At some point later will I be able to take pills? because I just rather wait til it is ok to swallow pills! Also, how long am I required to be on only liquids? Feeling a lot of regrets! Please help
  7. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayer! I really appreciate it. Surgery went fine but I was in a lot of pain afterwards and doped up! I'm feeling a lot better right now and Im taking in my 1 oz of liquid every hour. I had some nausea up until I started drinking the liquids. That different from what I heard but I guess my stomach was so full of narcotics and anesthesia and that caused the majority of my nausea. This morning they Dr. looked inside with modern technology camera and I don't have any leaks! Yaaay! My stomach feels like I've done a million sit ups but I'm feeling better every hour. Thanks again, hopefully I will go home tomorrow and get some sleep because I had insomia last night. Ttyl very soon
  8. Glad to hear your doing better now! I have surgery tomorrow and I can see that the first week or so is the most hell to pay! Wish me luck. This forum is so informational...

    5 days before surgery
  10. I'm having the surgery tomorrow! I'm very nervous but all of my pre op test came back great with the exception of my EGD. They found some bacteria and put me on antibotics & prilosec. I been having trouble with not eating but I been eating very little. Yesterday I had a cook out but I didnt pig out like I normally would have in the past. This is the first cookout that I did not make ribs & steak. I bbq'd chicken and hotdogs, I had a lil bit of the baked Beans & potatoe salad and I ate only once! I'm a great cook so I really wanted to savor the flavor since I won't be eating in this fashion for a very long time. Today I'm on liquids but I was so hungry I ate a small bowl of Cereal (frosted flakes) I pray my liver is not enormous by morning. I drank some green tea to help cleanse my colon and I was advised by the Dr. to drink Magnesium Citrate before bed. I'm praying my surgery goes well because I have heard a few nightmare stories but I keeping positive because I know everyone is different. I'm tired of being overweight and I'm ready for the change. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! To go back a lil bit, I will share that I almost didnt make it to surgery. I lost my job earlier this month and was at the end of my plan to go to surgery. Every since I lost my job I been on a roller coaster ride on if everything was gonna go good to have the surgery. Especially the fact of losing insurance at the end of the month. But thankfully, I'm scheduled for tomorrow so my insurance should cover everything. I haven't received my unemployment yet so I haven't got my cobra. I also applied for medicaid, so hopefully I can get my portion taken care of through that but I must ask that in GA resources are very limited and they give you the hardest time. I'm not upset I lost my job anymore because I feel less stressed. I just pray this unemployment will kick in asap! I will keep you all updated on my progress. Wish me luck!
