I also have BCBS of Ohio and need the Sleeve. I know that they are denying them based on "experimental". I also know that it is not experimental at this point but BCBS/Ohio chooses not to review this procedure again for updating. It is really sad for us that they will pay for the band and the roux-en-y surgery, but not the Sleeve!! I guess I will need to go ahead with the roux-en-y and if problems occur, BCBS/Ohio will have to pay all of the medical expenses including cost of future problems. I don't think the are looking at the future results of the different types o surgery. They are going to be the losers in the long run. I wish you the very best!! I do hope you can win in the end. Hi, I am wondering if you sent an appeal out on the Sleeve? I know that my Anthem Blue Cross of Ohio will not cover the Sleeve because "experimental"? I want the Sleeve, they will pay for the other procedures band and by-pass, but not the sleeve. I really wish they would pay for the sleeve. Just wonder if the appeal would do any good.

Have you heard anything further? I also have Anthen Blue Cross and want the Sleeve? I am new to this type of chat room, so hope you get my question.

I am just beginning the journey to get Anthem Blue Cross to approve the Sleeve Gastrectomy. Can you give me any suggestions? Did Anthem finally give you approval and they are going to cover your Sleeve? I am so worried, I know they will pay for the By-pass and the Band, I would love to hear that they will also pay for the Sleeve? Help please.
