    What to eat?? Losing hope

Okay..so I got the surgery done June 9th....I have lost about 11lbs since then. I know weight loss is super slow but hey iths something. I have been doing zumba about 3-4 times a week, counting calories (about 1200 a day), and I have 8.3 in my band. I was wondering of someone would like to share their blog or food diary to see what I'm doing wrong. If i eat slow enough and take small bites, it can go eat with no problem and feel full faster...but not exactly feel full longer...what am I doing wrong??? Any type of help would be greatly appreciated. p.s. Has anyone gone through a slow weight loss but finally it's turned around?? I need some hope ....also has anyones Dr' prescribed any diet pills with Lapband?

The Joy of Swallowing too much.

It's harder to eat and chew slowly when youre super hungry!! I have a hard time eating in the morning...I dont eat at all until 12pm....i eat maybe two hard boiled eggs and a couple crackers...then when I get home from work (5pm) I AM STARVING so thats when I end up eating fast and boom..i throw up everything...I got my surgery in June and I'm still having a hard time..I havent really lost any weight either...about 11lbs..hey it's something right?? i have about 8.3 in my band..
  5. So I got my third fill on Tuesday and I went from 5.1 to 8.3. My Dr slowly puts in fliud while I'm drinking Water and It seemed like i was in a good spot. I actually have not lost A POUND since my first fill, hence why he wnated to put me in the 'green zone'. Now my question is...I dont know if I'm stuck or this is the feeling of restriction. I am constantly hungry because I dont eat as much BECAUSE, it's such a discomfort to eat. I can only eat so much because i feel like my food is just there and not in my stomach. I dont drink because i dont want it to push down...I thought the green zone was to be able to eat a good decent portion and feel full for a long time..........I dont feel that. I still feel hungry but cant eat because it hurts to eat. I dont regurgitate it back up because i chew chew chew and take small bites.

    1st fill of 5.1cc

That doesn't seem too much right? I feel no restriction...I sip and eat things easily....BUT i do get full faster...I read people having a hard time eating breads and stuff like that, i tried it just to see...and i didn't have a problem with it...he was going to put almost 7cc's but when i drank water during the fill, he said that the amount i have right now would be a good start and i should lose some with it.....

    tricare denied?????

I have tricare PRIME also and I was afraid that I would get denied after they told me at my consult that I had to be 100+ pounds with one co-morbity. I was pretty depressed and did some research. Tricare uses the METLIFE weight & height chart and they go by the smallest weight on 'default' MEDIUM frame. By that, my ideal weight is 102lbs (medium frame). okay okay please dont judge me but I am originally 4'8 but slouched and bent my knees a little during my consult and they got me at 4'6...which makes it easier for me to weigh more. ANYWAY.....obviously 4'6 or 4'8 is considered a small frame so why would they use the medium frame??? If they used the small frame my ideal weight for my height is 79lbs. I clocked in at 180 so I made sure that my dr put on the referral that i was a SMALL frame...i got APPROVED and is super stoked!! Monday i will schedule my pre-op appt and will ask for the 2nd week of june for my surgery! wish me luck!!

    Tricare-Triwest Issues

So a little history since this is my first post... I have been overweight since I was 5 years old and I've tried almost EVERYTHING you can think of. It took us 7 years to conceive with our son and when he came out, he had complications and needs a feeding tube until he can eat on his own. I really think that me being overweight and having diabetes contributed to all the complications..... Well...I finally sat down with my PCP and he insisted I get a lapband...I didn't know Tricare covered it and he instantly put in a consult.... fast forward to today...... I had my seminar and my one on one appt with the doctor. He evaluated me and told me that my diabetes is extremely out of control (A1C: 11.5) and he thinks that with the lapband i'd be better...He wanted me to get the gastric bypass but I insisted that all I needed was a boost or a tool to help me and I can do the rest of the work.... To my understanding TRICARE covered if you had a BMI of 40 with one or more comorbities. They measured me at 4'6 and 180lbs. So my BMI was exactly at 40. I have type II diabetes, hypertension, infertility and PCOS. So i was super excited with the surgeon told me that i am an excellent candidate for surgery. WELLLLLLL.... As I was checking out...the lady told me that TRICARE/TRIWEST doesn't go by BMI but they go by weight. I have to be 100lbs over my ideal weight and with one comorbity. WTF?! First they tell me that my ideal weight for my height is 99, which when I checked through the Met-Life chart my ideal weight for a SMALL FRAME (which I think im a small frame if im 4'6) is 76-102. I dont know what tricare uses to determine someones ideal body weight..PLEASE HELP... I came out of the building with the surgeon telling me he will still request it...if it gets denied to appeal it.........this saddens me.
