About Me

My name is Amanda but most people call me Manda. I have two dogs named Macy and Cassie who own a piece of my heart. I have a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and plan on getting my Master's in Speech-Language Pathology. I have the best family and friends a girl could ask for! I am currently in the process of weight lost surgery. I began my journey on March 10, 2011 when I attended a Lap-Band seminar. I started my journey thinking Lap-Band would be the best option for me. After attending my seminar I learned of the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy. I realized that it was a better option for me than the Lap-Band. I am happy to have found a place to share stories, concerns, and just generally be around people who understand what it is like to be overweight and desperate to find a way out. I am currently completing all the requirements for my insurance to cover my surgery including a six months supervised diet with began on March 25, 2011. I hope that I will have a surgery date sometime this fall! :)

"I believe everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you can eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."
