  1. I to have tricare west and was told that i had to be 100+ over with a bmi of over 40. I only starrted this process back at the end of oct of 2010 and have gone through every hoop that they wanted including the 6 months of being on a supervised diet and seeing a nutrisionist during that 6 month period, and have gone through the all the pre-op testing requirements, which they approved, but they won't approve the surgery. I know how you feel about being discouraged as I am to. I'm a little lost with what to do now. I'm going through a different office instead of through balboa here in san diego. but they haven't called me or anything. I'm a little bummed and irritated at the same time. Am thinking of going back to talk to my PCP, but they always try to sucker me into doing other checkups that I don't want to have done. I just want this process to be done and over with because it is stressing me out so much these days.
  2. Hey everyone, I have tricare west prime and I went through everything that they wanted me to and got approved for everything except the surgery. I'm a bit confused and a little pissed off at the same time. why would they go through and approve everything but deny the surgery???has this happened to anyone else? and if so what did you have to do about it to get them to approve it? Thanks a bunch
  3. I also have tricare prime. I was told when i started that tricare requires a 6 month supervised diet or you have been on one within the past 2 years. like weight watchers or jenny craig or seen a nutritionist. Yeah i think i will call and see what the deal is. I've never had to wait more then a week for tricare to approve or deny anything so this is weird.
  4. Hi everyone I am new to this forum but have been going through all the preop stuff and jumping through hoop after hoop with tricare. I was told that I had to do 6 months of seeing a nutritionist. the office i've been going through told me that they submitted everything to the tricare office and that it would take a few weeks before i knew what was going on. yah and that was 6 weeks ago. I've one through everything and tricare has approved everything but the surgery. I haven't heard anything and the office that I have been going to is one from the `800get-thin numbers and has really random hours. so I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if you have tricare paying or paid for the surgery how long did you have to wait? thanks a bunch.
