  1. I have to have both these tests and more I knew there was a lot involved but Jeez. I also need a chest x-ray and do a 6 minute walk. Thats only for the pulmonary doc. I also have to see a cardiologist and gastro. I was also told they need to do an upper endoscopy. I think this is all hoops to jump through hoping many people just give up---I AM NOT!!! I already have been cleared from psych, have weights documented for 2 yrs and a letter of support from my primary. Surgery can't happen fast enough
  2. I was wondering if anyone has done the sleep study at home??? I saw the pulmonary doc yesterday and she said I can do study at home, but she wasn't very informative. I am happy I don't have to go sleep somewhere else if I don't have to
  3. Good Luck!!! I am not looking forward to that week. I tried the unjury rasberry sorbet yesterday-pretty good.
  4. I am from Suth Jersey too! I also have Aetna. Unfortunately my BMI is 41 so I don't neeed co-morbities but You still have to jump through hoops. I had my first nutrition class this past Sat. I have also been cleared by psch. I was wondering if everyone needs a sleep study? I sure hope not, its not easy getting to all these different appointments and work a full time job, with 2 kids.
  5. I am sooo with you!!!! I feel this is something that is constantly on my mind. I am scheduled for surgery july 28. I haven't told many people but the people I did tell, just don't seem that interested. have you noticed that any questions people ask you have a negative undertone. So I am on here all the time too. Its so nice to read everyones questions and answers. Good Luck!!!
  6. I say take the time off!!! You aren't going to do yourself any good if your body isn't aqble to heal properly. If you really can't swing taking the full days off maybe you can ask about working half days.
  7. Its so funny that you are asking this questions today, cause I was thinking the same thing! I see all these people on here talking about losing weight before surgery and I was wondering if everyone was told to do this or what? My doctor never said anything about losing weight before. I also want to kinow the same thing about insurance cause if I lose anything I will be below the 40 bmi.
  8. Just started the process too and I just found out that my thyroid is overactive too. I also have nodules on mine that need to go for a biopsy. Just aggrevated that I finally make the decision to get the lapband and now this. I asked my surgeon if I hould prolong going to all thee appointments for medical clearance and they said no. But I kinda of feel like its a waste at this time--SOOOO CONFUSED!!!!!
  9. So am I!!!!! My surgery date was orginally set for july 28, but I am going to have to push it to Aug. I am in NJ. I am feeling overwhelmed with all the appointments needed before surgery. I know in the end its well worth it, but Jeez!!!! Its not easy working full time and having two kids. I was wondering if you ere feeling the same way?
