  1. Hello All, I am new to this forum, but I wanted to post this about Kaiser's option now for plastic surgery for WLS. I understand the copay is about $3,000, but well worth it for removing the "overhang." Here is a website explaining the differences between panniculectomy and abdominoplasty and what insurances will/may pay for based on the surgeon's coding. Check out your insurance options, especially if you have Kaiser. As a previous anesthesia manager there, I have seen several panniculectomies performed. 2. Hi Sophia,

I don't really know Kay...she came with Pat. Don't know what happened to her. Sorry I couldn't make it in August. Things are crazy until the house gets rented in Tarzana -- so much to do.

  3. I have several tops, bottoms and suits available to give away to a person or persons needing gently-used clothing. Some items are from Nordstroms. All items are laundered or dry cleaned and ready for use. They will be donated to charity soon if there are no takers from this forum. If you are from out of the area and are interested, I can ship if you pay postage! Treat yourself, or a loved one, to a new look. For inquiries, you may e-mail me directly Email me. Thanks!

    Eating out

Here is a link to one restaurant card. I've used mine on several occasions to have a glance at the children's menu, but usually just end up ordering a regular meal and eating it over the next day or two. Most of the stuff on the kiddie menu is way too bad for us! http://www.wlscenter...aurant_card.htm
  7. Hi Pam,

You look "glowing" in your new picture! Love it!

So glad you are feeling well. I am too, and almost ready to return to work. When are we meeting again, do you know?

    Great hearing from you!

  8. Hi Peggy,

It was terrific meeting you. You are a wealth of sleeve information and an inspiration to me. Looking forward to our next luncheon!

  9. I had a terrific time today sharing similar experiences and gaining new insight into what lies ahead (great stuff!!). It was wonderful meeting you Sophia, Pam and Peggy. Thank you so much for taking care of the tab, Pam! I am looking forward to our next get together and a "smaller" picture! Hope more other sisters can join us! Thank you again for uniting us!

    Pacific Bariatric Hurry Up!!!

Hello NewMe2Bee, The old saying, "patience is a virtue," applies here. I started the ball rolling for the VSG at Kaiser Fontana last November, finished the 12 week Options class on May 24, 2010, and am scheduled for the surgery through Pacific Bariatrics on September 27, 2010. It's been a long wait, but well worth it. Please don't despair; there are huge numbers of people waiting for this surgery, and the more time you have to wait leaves you more time to research your options and make sure this is what you want and truly need. As you've probably read, there are so many people who go in for this surgery totally unprepared for what to expect. But remember, any bariatric surgery is a TOOL -- not a solution -- for our weight loss. It is up to us to follow the instructions we have been given in order for us to be successful. As an aside, Kaiser is expanding their bariatric program. People can have Kaiser surgeons perform their WLS at St. Bernadine's (in San Bernardino) and, when the Kaiser Fontana reopens with its new facility in 2013, WLS will be provided there. :001_tongue: You will get your call from Pacific Bariatrics within the time indicated, and they will follow up with you every step of the way. Hang in there!!
