  1. Hello, I'm new here as of today, April 20, 2011. I was banded Feb. 23, 2011 and my journey is phenominal! I have had smooth sailing from day one! However, I have followed all the rules my doctor set down. I have lost 18 lbs. since surgery, not counting the 10 I lost from the pre-surgery diet. My doctor is Dr. Ron Heiker in Texarkana, TX. He is simply great. The best perk so far is that I haven't had a Byetta shot for my Type II Diabetes since the night before my surgery. Sugar levels are looking great and my left knee no longer hurts. Good luck! cocolib
