  1. I don't chew my food as well as I did when I started out.... Thanks for sharing everyone! It's good to have a realistic view of ones behavior... NO MORE HIDING! In the past I never told anyone how much I weighed, when I hid food or ate alone, or how many servings... Its good to get it out in the open and go from there. ....And to see how much success there is here even with the bad habits!
  2. Check out netrition.com. They have a number of high protein, low carb foods to grab. I also find protein bars can be a big help getting in the protein. I use balance bars right now because they taste good and are vegetarian. There are many more to choose from as well. I have found veggie pepperoni and jerky.. of course there are lots of meat choices there too for on the go. Cheese sticks, cottage cheese or greek yogurt, cans of split pea or bean soup...hard boiled eggs....peanut butter and carrot slices... I like the Trader Joes almond/flax seed butter....
  3. This is the method I am using... so far so good...
  4. I have found some high Protein chips on line I order once in a while to feed my chip cravings. Also if you add cheese or hummus to the chips that helps to mediate the carbs. Love me some chips! http://www.netrition.com/genisoy_soy_crisps.html
  5. Best of luck, and just ask, or search here if you have any questions or need support! Congratulations!
  6. Speak up, I would make some notes to remember questions to ask when you go back. Its easy to forget under pressure. I have found my Docs are happy to answer questions, but are not always good at reading my mind! A good bed side manner is gold, but it is you who needs to look out for yourself.
  7. My Doc said they could get it all done in 6 weeks, but I chose to spread it out a bit longer. I was given a list from my Docs patients coordinator... it was about 20 things long! It really helped me to keep on top of things, and she helped me to get insurance approval for several of the tests and appointments for others. It was fascinating to get all the results... I felt like I was getting really good care and learning new stuff about myself.
  8. I know my shape changes, but I don't know why for sure... some parts get thinner, others stay the same... it must be water/fat/muscle distribution...
  9. I have some "before" photos on my fridg, I'm thinking I need to put a copy of this up too... just as a reminder of how far I have come.
  10. You look fantastic! Thanks for posting, and the post is NOT too long, its always a pleasure to hear about someones success on here!
  11. This morning I was one pound over my lowest weight. That is really a miracle! I even made a thanksgiving dinner for us and have been eating little plates of leftovers at mealtime. Gotta have a tofurky and cranberry sandwich or two this time of year! This is living! I will run out of the left overs tomorrow, and hop back on plan 100%. Actually, I AM on plan. I am craving veggies! So cool. Thanks sleeve!
  12. Best of luck with that... do you track your calories? How much have you gained back in how much time? Thanks for sharing... it will help us all.
  13. You guys have done very well with your sleeves. Congrats to you! When I went to the Psychologist for testing, and evaluation, one thing they said to me was I tend to question authority. This is very true and I laughed when I heard it. I just want to make sure that I am not going so far out of bounds of the "rules" that I sabotage my success. I am trying to be empirical, and track what I eat and remain conscious of where I deviate from the rules. I am still losing weight and feeling good. I think I have fear of gaining back... because that is my past experience. I am trying to navigate the course of going to someplace I have not been before. I like coming here, because there is lots of empirical experience along side of reiteration and interpretation of the rules to inform oneself. Thanks for your experience and advice.
  14. -I STILL insist on drinking my coffee before during and after my Breakfast (the same cup). The other meals I don't seem to have the temptation... -chocolate chips are my OTHER husband. It appears we are married too. I do measure and log them into my fitday EVERY DAY. -Sometimes I eat my carbs FIRST. I do however manage to get my Protein in every day... How about you?
  15. This too shall pass, I hope you feel better soon.
  16. I think staying local is a good idea too... for followup. The time will fly!
  17. I eat home made veggie soup as a snack... to get more veggies in. I can add protein if I need it.
  18. You probably should not add Vinegar this early on. My Doc said no acids. I had to wait until around 4 months until I could take vinegar salad dressings even... imagine pouring vinegar into an open wound!
  19. You just don't want to get into the place where you have to bare down... this is not good for your stitches. Drink as much water as you can during the day and try the milk of magnesia or miralax or stool softener... if your pharmacies don't carry them, ask your Doc. After almost 10 months, this is still a problem for me. I can add fiber now, and that helps.
  20. Clearly you were the Belle of the ball! Not only is it a ball gown, its a Shiny RED strapless ball gown! You look happy and fantastic! Love the 1/2 sleeve too by the way...
  21. Thanks Amanda, you will be there before you know it!
  22. Thanks lady! One day at a time! We are SO lucky to have our sleeves!
  23. Its almost worth going to the thrift store and getting a pair your old size! I will have to look around and see if I have a before pic of myself wearing these same pants.... Thanks Ladies!
