  1. I think you should have at least one "last meal". I had just one and am glad I only did it once. Some people go all out and gain weight. I knew someone who had their surgery postponed due to that. Good luck with your pre-op diet and surgery!!!
  2. After checking them all out- I went with myfitnesspal.com. So easy to use and I'm surprised by all the foods in their database.
  3. SO I'm one month out today. I can't believe it. It feels like just yesterday I was lying on the operating table and praying that everything was going to be ok. Wow time goes by fast! I do feel so much better already. Pre-op I was sick due to ulcers, anemia, and a hiatal hernia. Now with the hernia being repaired (same time as surgery) and being on meds- that has all gone bye-bye. I now feel like I have so much energy back. I'm doing things around the house that should've been done long ago but I was too sick/tired to complete them. I stopped midway as i was redecorating my living room before surgery. Now that is completed as of today- yay! I'm still adjusting to all the eating stages. I'm on soft/tender foods now. I feel like I can eat more than I should. Yesterday I went out and bought a food scale so I can accurately measure out portions. I just hope I have the restriction that I should. that worries me a bit. Tonight I am meeting some friends out for dinner. I'm a little worried about it as it is my first social outing since surgery. I've looked online at the menu and there are not many healthy options. I'm leaning towards the slow roasted chicken- it says it is trimmed and its slow roasted so it's tender. Not sure if that is a good choice. But other than that my options would be mashed potatoes and I'd rather stay away fromthose carbs. Ahhh... adjustments... adjustments. Gotta keep telling myself it's all for the best- right?
  4. You are doing fabulous! Way to go on your weight loss!
  5. Welcome! Good luck with your surgery on Friday! Let us know how it goes!
  6. Woo Hoo- you're doing fabulous!!! 30lbs in 4 weeks- wow! I had surgery the same day and am only down 12lbs. I had some Water weight to lose from being hooked up to fluids 4 days and lost that as well but only 12 down from pre-op weight. Glad you are feeling so good and enjoying time with your kiddos.
  7. YAY YOU!!! You're doing great! I think its great that you do not have a scale at home. I put mine away in my laundry room and tell myself to only get it out once a week to weigh myself. That is soooo much easier to say than do. I end up taking out the scale a few times a week. I want to change that- it's not healthy! Good luck to you as you continue through this journey!
  8. 20lbs is a great weightloss in such a short amount of time! Way to go!! Good luck to you as you continue on this journey!
  9. That's great that you're going to two seminars to compare- very thorough! Yes- this site is AMAZING! I'm one month out and have learned soooo much from people on this site! I hope you have an easy time jumping through the insurance hoops and will be approved quickly!
  10. Your post made me smile . Good luck to you as you begin this journey!!!
  11. Woo Hoo! That's a fantabulous NSV! Size 4- jees that must feel wonderful- I can't imagine putting on a size that small. Enjoy wearing your 4's!
  12. YAY FOR YOU!!! Size 8- that's fabulous!!! Enjoy wearing your size 8's!
  13. That is fabulous! That must be a great feeling to be half way to goal. Keep up the great work!
  14. My experience is very similar to yours. I'll be a month out Wednesday and am only down 13 lbs since surgery. I also expected it to be more but am trying to be happy with the loss. I also had my hiatal hernia repaired. I can really tell a difference in how it makes me feel. I don't have heartburn and I have so much more energy. I lost over 100lbs before on my own but like you I'm thinking this "tool" will help me keep it off instead of regaining it plus more. Good luck to you as you continue on this journey! I'm sure you will lose 100lbs in no time!!!
  15. My surgeon's office had me fill out a form about where they can or can't call and also leave a message. I only want messages given to me or left on my cell voicemail. Like you- I don't want them to call my work! It is definitely not ok for them to do so if you do not approve. I would ask if they have a form like- so it is in written documentation and soemthing they can refer to when calling you.
  16. Good luck to you on Wednesday!!! Hope everything goes well and you have a great start on this weightloss journey!
  17. Have you tried the unjury Unflavored? When I have enough sweetness I will put that in foods to help me get in Protein. Unjury also has the chicken Soup flavor, which isn't bad. My taste hasn't changed at all. I kept reading how that would probably happen but it didn't- everything tastes the same to me.
  18. I had the same thoughts- do I really need this? I knew I did but I think most of us probably had second thoughts. I think your head/self conversation was spot on! Good luck tomorrow!!!
  19. How wonderful for you! That is an awesome NSV! When I lost weight before I loved kayaking- but have felt too big to do it the last few years. It is fun and peaceful too- can't wait to be doing it again- hopefully next year. Enjoy your kayaking time! I think that you should totally zipline! That is something I want to do too - and in Hawaii- what a beautiful place to zip line at! Anxious to hear about all you NSV's in Hawaii!
  20. Glad that are you are doing better than yesterday. The pain meds messed things up for me too (low oxygen levels at night), but I also was push happy on the pain med button Good luck to you as you continue this journey- it really does seem to get better everyday!
  21. Fabulous!!! You are doing wonderful!!! Congrats on your weightloss!!!
