  1. Tomorrow is a new day. Start fresh again tomorrow. You have got to be careful, especially so early out. Truthfully I'm not sure I could eat that much at 3 months out, nor would I try. Like its said so many times on here, just because you can eat it, does not mean you should.
  2. If it is right before your normal bedtime, I would say just go to sleep. Now if it were a couple hours before bed, then I would go with a high protein snack.
  3. Just keep reminding yourself of why you did this. Remember you will be able to eat soon enough, just not in mass quantities. I quickly had to go back to cooking for my family even while on a liquid diet, a few days after surgery I even went with them to get pizza. YOu just have to fight through the temptation and remember the end outcome you are looking for.
  4. In many relationships the opposite is true, increase in sexual desires, taking better care of yourself which in our case has lead to my husband wanting to "show" me off which lead to me not feeling so resentful believing he was embarrassed of me. While those changes can make some people feel insecure as though they were not loved unconditionally it has done the opposite for me and really given me a boost in self esteem that I was lacking when fat. As an example, never has my husband been one to post pictures of me on his facebook page, not that there were many pictures of me to begin with but just the other day I had him take a picture of me to send to my mom, he encouraged me to post it to my facebook, then tagged himself in it. He wanted to show his wife off and it really made me feel so much better about myself.
  5. I didn't have any issues with heartburn before surgery. After surgery I was automatically put on Prilosec, it didn't work. Switched to Nexium and it does the job.
  6. We have not had any issues in our marriage with the surgery however my "best friend" walked. About two weeks after my surgery she went from talking me every day to not having anything to do with me. No argument, no disagreement, she just bailed, guess she couldn't stand me losing weight. At the support group I go to I hear of way more issues with friends than with spouses or dating.
  7. Thanks everyone for the compliments
  8. Thanks! Thanks! My husband said the same thing lol. He said its like he's married to a whole new person Thanks! Love looking younger. Sure hope I'm not shrinking, I'm short enough as it is hehe. Thanks! Thanks, I am so glad to finally be adjusting and getting back to normal. Its taken way longer than I anticipated and hopefully after this next scope all will be good again.
  9. So I had my 3 month check up and surprisingly my labs looked pretty good! I totally expected them to look funky, I am the queen of forgetting to take my Vitamins. My Vit D was low but I am getting a prescription for someone I need to take once a week for 12 weeks to deal with that. My good cholesterol was a little low and my bad cholesterol a little high but I was assured it would look better as I get more energy to start exercising more. Also they did a parathyroid intact and it was high but he said everything else looked good so he is not worried. The decision was made to go ahead with one more scope, I am still getting that stuck feeling daily and usually once a day I get the intense pain feeling that landed me in the hospital last time *sigh* Hopefully it is just a stricture that can be easily ballooned open. All in all he said I was doing really good and the weight is still coming off pretty good to so that is exciting Nothing fits anymore, Im down from a very tight size 20 to 12/14 and a 1X to a Large, sometimes a medium I am almost all the way through my "skinny" clothes that have not even fit me in who knows how many years so off to the thrift stores I shall go this week to find some to get me through
  10. Mine was to weigh less than my hubby. I hit that goal for like a week, then he had jaw surgery and has been on a liquid diet for 4 weeks so he currently 5 lbs under me. So almost there again, though I am sure once he can eat real food again he will gain some weight back The other was to be able to cross my legs, which I was able to do as of 2 weeks ago
  11. Soon enough you will be able to get the protein through foods so I wouldn't worry about your lack of protein now. I am about 3 months post op and still not quite able to get the daily amount in but slowly am getting closer to that magic 60 grams a day. Protein drinks are just awful! I even tried putting unflavored in a smoothie like I did before and had to throw the smoothie out.
  12. Yep so many changes for me. Sweets are now way too sweet, stuff with just a little bit of salt now tastes way overly salted. I now like several things that I did not like before too, like string cheese and bacon. Some of my old favorites I just cannot stand now.
  13. Make sure you think long and hard before going through with surgery. You HAVE to be willing to give up eating the way you are now. The sleeve is NOT a cure all. It is simply a tool and you can seriously do some damage to yourself if you force large amounts of food down. You have to be willing to follow the guidelines for eating and not try to force a few extra bites. Are you ready to eat a 1/4 cup of food a couple of times a day? Can you mentally handle that? I am 3 months post op and eat about 1/4 cup of Protein and maybe a spoonful of potatoes 3 times a day. A normal breakfast for me is a string cheese. You have to be ready to deal with it. If you go through with surgery it will be key for you to be in therapy. You will grieve the loss of being able to eat what you want, when you want, how you want. It will be key for you to be involved in a support group too. Like I said the sleeve is just a tool and you have to know it will not fix all your problems. It can be a very big struggle to watch others eat and knowing you cannot eat that way. This surgery is for life, there is no going back once its done.
  14. So glad she is doing better. I had a hole too and ended up having it closed with glue during a scope. The nausea, vomiting, dry heaves were awful too. Part of it can be from the swelling still in the sleeve. Tell her to ask for better meds, I was on 3 during my hospital stay for the complications. Phenergan, it works great but might just knock her out and Compazine works well too, again made me very tired.
  15. I shop at the local thrift stores and buy off of craigslist. Since it's yard sale season I'm going to start going to those again next weekend to look for clothes. I also look at clearance racks and pick up sizes I know I will get into, even if it its currently too small. I figure I will get there soon enough and have been shocked at some of the things already fitting. Dresses are great too, they tend to last the longest for me or skirts with a stretchy waist. Do you have a local support group? Might look to see if there is one and if they do a clothing exchange. My group does a clothing exchange every other month. I've gotten some great things there. Belts are great too for pants, I know for me, my butt and waist are shrinking faster than my thighs. However I have still dropped from a tight 20 down to a 12/14 in 3 months and gone from a 1x top to mediums and larges.
  16. I used hydrocortisone around mine. I had to let the stuff just fall off on it's own and it took weeks to do so I just applied the cream.
  17. What I would like to do and what I can afford to do are two different things I would like to get a tummy tuck, after 3 c-sections my stomach looks harsh and I have stretch marks so bad from carrying each child, especially the twins. My stomach is shrinking some, thankfully I have age on my side BUT I dont think the skin will completely bounce back. Would love a boob job too. I started out very small in the chest as it was and they are almost gone now *sigh* Would love laser hair removal too. Oh and I would love to have my gap between my two front teeth closed too. Now realistically what I can afford will be all new clothes, I have gone through almost my whole collection of clothes, very few fit anymore. I think the smallest I have down to is a 12 and I'm in a 14 now and I'm ready to start dressing cute and my age again. Planning to grow my hair out too, I've had it short for so many years.
  18. I had pain from the get-go. Was told it was heartburn. At around 5 or 6 weeks I ended up in the hospital after the pain increasingly got worse until I could no longer drink or eat anything. Many tests later a few things were determined. I had a stricture and have since had 3 scopes. The second scope also saw that I had a small hole at the top of my sleeve. Thankfully nothing was leaking out of it and it was small enough to be closed with glue, the glue was done during my 3rd scope. I also have a kink in my sleeve, its more of an L shape instead of a banana shape. I have delayed gastric emptying. The doctors also suspected that I had more inflammation than people normally end up with. They see a lot of pain with that alone and it usually lets up around 6-7 weeks. I was in the hospital for about a week and a half on pain meds and then had to start on nausea meds round the clock as I started vomiting after the swallow study. I ended up with PICC line because I could not eat or drink anything. Finally the pain started to let up and I was able to go home. The pain is off and on now, very random but thankfully nothing like before.
  19. Is it happening every time or just if you take too big of a sip at once? I had issues getting anything down and it increasingly got worse til I ended up in the hospital around 5 or 6 weeks. Mine ended up being a stricture, an odd shape in my sleeve, delayed gastric emptying and they suspect too much inflamation in my sleeve. Some people end up with way more inflammation which makes it difficult to get anything in. My surgeons said they see the swelling start to go down after about the 6-7th week mark and after that point as well as a few scopes to open up the stricture I did see drastic improvements and the pain I get is very occasional now.
  20. I still get the stuck feeling a few times a day but nothing like before. Before everything had gotten to the point of giving me that pain. Now it is very random. My GI did say that sometimes they have to balloon open a stricture 2-3 times before it works. I'm waiting to see my surgeon in a few weeks to get his opinion on if I should pursue being scoped again or not. Originally the plan was to scope me at least one more time after the last one I had done but I have pushed it off for now.
  21. Just watched and commented on your video, you look absolutely wonderful!
  22. Woohoo for working out. I actually volunteered to mow the yard today, totally not something I wanted to do 50 lbs ago And I am dragging my butt to the gym tomorrow
