  1. I had my surgery on the 15th also. I'm still taking the pain meds and I'm sleeping alot (probably because of the pain meds) but otherwise I'm doing pretty well. I know what you mean about the tightness in your chest, I feel that too sometimes. I'm getting my water and protein in but I have to keep thinking about it or I get behind. I haven't gotten on the scale but I can feel the weight coming off. I see my surgeon next week so will get the official weight loss then. Good luck to everyone!!!!
  2. I'm glad you both are doing well!!! Thanks for the warning, surgery on Monday for me!
  3. My surgery is on the 15th also. My surgeon didn't require the pre-op liquid diet. I have to drink magnesium citrate on Saturday and then I"m on clear liquids until Monday. I've read that it is better for your liver if you are on the pre-op diet so don't beat yourself up. Just get back on your diet and keep looking forward to Monday. You can do this!!! We can both do this! Hang in there!
  4. Yes, some of the other BCBS's are changing their policy. I was the first BCBS patient in my doctors office to be approved!!! The insurance coordinator asked me if I wanted her to hold onto all of my paperwork until they were sure it would be approved and I told her that I'd prayed on it and I thought she should go ahead and submit everything. It took nearly two weeks to get their answer but I was so happy that it was approved.
  5. Congratulations! I'm glad you're doing well.
  6. Good luck!!! I know it will go fine!!!
  7. I will be a couple of weeks behind you. My surgery date is August 15th. I'm 57, married & one grown daughter. I'm getting a little nervous but excited to be getting this done!
  8. Got the call today that my surgery was approved! I am the first person in their office to be approved for sleeve surgery by BCBS of Wyoming! Surgery on August 15th. I know it will be here before I know it! Thank you to everyone on VST you are awesome!
  9. I have been waiting a week and a half so far and haven't heard a thing. My insurance coordinator tells me that it varies by state. The state I live in still thinks of VSG as "experimental" and although my doctor has been working with BCBS of Wyoming to have them approve surgeries on a "case by case" basis I have been warned that I will probably be denied first and we will have to wait for them to make their decision on whether they will start approving VSG surgeries at all. I knew when my paperwork was sent in that it would most likely be denied but have decided to wait and pray that they will start approving them soon.
