  1. That's awesome Julia! Thanks for sharing!
  2. I'm doing my best to not focus on my weight so today I have been thinking about the non scale victories that I have achieved over the past month (just banded in March 2011). 1. I NO longer drink Diet Dr. Pepper (all day long habit) & or coffee. I've replaced them both with water! 2. I NO longer have to take medicine for acne & my complexion, after 2 yrs of oral acne medication, has never been better! (thank you water!) 3. My clothes are loose. 4. I'm not craving sweets. 5. I have not had a headache in 21 days. I was having them at least every other day - caffeine? poor food choices? I don't know! I don't care, they're gone!! That's what I've got after 35 days when I started my 2 week pre -op Optifast & 21 days of band living. For me, all of this is huge. I'd love to hear all of your NSV's....(from anytime, not just from March/April 2011!)

  4. Good for you & good luck to you!
  5. I'm new as well & looking for support & to offer support, just added everyone in this thread as friends.
  6. Same for me - yesterday was my 1st day back & I took it easy as well. It's been such a long journey for me to actually get to the surgery (like you said, "all the hoops") it's a little crazy to think that the band is actually in me! But of course I just have to breath & I get a little reminder of that hernia repair! haha
  7. I opted for lap band based on the same reasons as Jack: Adjustable , Repairable, Removable, Replaceable. It's what I felt most comfortable doing. In addition, my surgeon will no longer perform gastric bypass because he decided it was too risky & if he wouldn't recommend his friends & family to have gastric bypass he wouldn't perform the surgery any longer either.
  8. I was banded on 3-16-11 as well & I have to say that yesterday & today have been my best days. I also had hiatal hernia repair & I think that recovery has been way worse than the lapband recovery! Good luck to you!
  9. Yay! I just had my surgery 3-16-11 & I'm 7 days post op. It's an exciting time, good luck to you!
