  1. Hi im from Irvine and hope to get sleeved on June 23. We aren't too far from each other!!
  2. Thank you everyone! I don't think it will bother me too much, if i do end up with saggy skin. At least i will be able to walk and play with my son without wanting to pass out! Thanks again. Congrats to all of you!!!
  3. I read that some people end up looking older after losing so much weight. And have sagging skin. I am putting most of my savings into this surgery and probably won't have money to do a tummy tuck or something. I have a very round chubby ( fat) face :0 and hope i don't have that much sagging skin on my neck, or face or tummy. Can you tell me your experience? I hope to lose 100lbs or so. Thanks !!
  4. SO relieved!!!! Called UHC this morning to check the status and she said i was approved!!! That was super fast. They submitted my paperwork last Thursday. I was worried i would have to do the 5 year history and the 6 month diet but i guess not!! woohooo!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Lord! June 23rd is my tentative date!!!!!!!!!
  5. where do you get these syrups??
  6. im getting anything and everything from any doctor that i may have visited. The more info, the better im sure!! GOod luck to you!
  7. Thank you Jim!! That is very encouraging!! I won't stop! I can' live like this anymore. Thanks for the info!!
  8. Thanks Swizzly Renee, i just might have to do that. After all the tests ive done, and all the money for the tests that i have put out already, i might have to show proof of a morbid obese diagnosis for the past 5 years. Which i do not have. I was laid off in 2009 so i have not seen a doctor every year. I just found this out yesterday so my heart is just about to break. Waiting to hear from my Surgeon's office. My insurance gives me different answers everyday. So maybe i might be going to mexico! how much is your surgery?
  9. Thank you Vickyd and ElizabethNYC. I will def think outside the box. I will do all i can to get approved. But ultimately i know if this is God's will , then it will happen. thanks for your encouragement and ideas!!!
  10. i am so stressed out because i was laid off in 2009 and didn't have health insurance. so i won't have the years i need
  11. So ive been going thru these journey that seems so endless. Started with the 1800 get thin people. Found out the were out of network for United Healthcare. Finally found a program / surgeon in network ( the n.e.w program) and so happy with them. had all my tests done. have sleep apnea, hypertension and gallstones. The new program said i would need a 3 month supervised diet, but nothing else was required . when i called UHC they said no, all i needed was a BMI over 40 or a BMI of 35 with 2 mobidities. Im over 40 btw....and now i happen to come across information for my job's health benefits, it said the requirements were BMI over 40, had to be 21 years old and 5 years of documented diagnosis of morbid obsesity. MY HEART FELL. i have been severly overweight for more than 8 years. But i don't have 5 years worth of documentation. And why wouldn't the new program tell me this if this was a requirement?? PLEASE HELP! I AM SO CRUSHED
  12. Have you heard of the N.E.W. program in Newport Beach? I too have met with a few surgeons. THe first being the 1-800-Get-thin which i deceided against! I also looked into the Obesity Center at Chapman hospital. Good luck to you. It seems to be a never ending journey but hopefully we will both get there!!
  13. HI Connie! Im hoping to have my surgery done at the NEW program i do plan to attend their meeting and excercise classes. WOuld be great to meet u!
  14. Thank you so very much Renee. That means a lot. And im sorry you went thru this as well. WOW congrats on losing your weight! YOu must be sooo proud!! I hope it doesn't impact my surgery. I already know how over-weight i am. And yesterday just proved to me again that i need to do this for me Take care Renee and keep up the good work!! I hope to be where you are someday!

  16. I just checked out your website and your from OC!! Woot woot!!
  17. I have really really high BP too and my meds didn't seem to control it well. I am finally on Bystolic and that med is wonderful!! Have you had a stress test and cardiac tests? I understand they need to have your BP at a certain level so you can have surgery but it is frustrating!!! Hang in there!
  18. I am soo disappointed in myself. I couldn't even walk 4 minutes on the treadmill without gasping for air! I had to stop the test because i just couldn't go anymore. They ended up doing the nuclear stress test with medication. I hate not being able to breath when i do basic daily things. I just hope and pray all goes well so i can have the sleeve done
  19. im so nervous. i have a stress test tomorrow and i hope i can make it. i am breathless just walking to my car sometimes!! what if i can't finish it????
  20. i was planning to have the lap band. i went to a seminar yesterday where they discussed all 3 surgeries. They do perform all 3 surgeries however, i learned that the lap band does have more complications long term. And everything that Birinak said is all true ( in my opinion ) Even though i wanted the lap band so bad, i felt unsure because of the problems some of the bandsters have had here. Even after the surgery, there is a struggle to get to your "green zone" and that takes a number of fills. So ive changed my mind to the sleeve. But im also researching that as well. just to be sure that this is the best for me. Good luck!!
  21. Good luck!! I hope to be where you are soon! Hope your surgery goes well and recovery is fast! Keep us posted!
  22. What kind of insurance do you have if you don't mind me asknig? ANd did they have any program fee?
