  1. I had my lap band on March 11th. I had severe left shoulder pain that radiated into my neck for almost a week. I was at the breaking point because nothing would help. I called my doctor after 6 days and he told me to go ahead and try ibuprofen. I know it is something they tell you not to take right after the surgery, but i did it with the doctors guidance. It was the miracle fix........i could not believe that it worked. I had been taking several different narcotic pain meds that didnt touch the shoulder pain. As far as my incisions.......they are all doing fine. I hope this helps......good luck. Jessica
