  1. Amps and Sheila - how are you both doing now that you are sleeved?? I hope everything is going well. Apple - your surgery is right around the corner! I wish I was as close as you. Best case, I hope to be sleeved in June.
  2. Sheila - how are you doing after surgery?? Hope all is well!
  3. Hang in there! I've been reading the boards like crazy lately and it seems almost everyone has that scared feeling, wondering if they are doing the right thing, right before surgery. Just think of all the benefits for your health! We're pulling for you and your success!
  4. I also have UHC Choice Plus. I know there are different requirements from plan to plan, but I'm curious what your pre-op steps were. Mine are 3 month supervised diet, NUT appt, psych appt. Either BMI > 40 with no co-morbidities or BMI > 35 with comorbidities. I have already done the NUT and psych. I'm more than a month into my diet. My BMI is 41 with at least one co-morbidity (blood pressure). Just trying to determine how my approval will turn out. Were your requirements similar?? Thanks and good luck!
  5. Shelia - how are you doing on your pre-op diet? Only two more days until your sleeve! Keep us posted!!
  6. $19,700 for self pay of the Sleeve with Dr K. How does this compare with Mexico?
  7. Sheila - so glad you stopped by again to give us an update. I will probably have lots of questions for you as you go through this since I hope to follow behind you in June. So it sounds like Dr K has you doing a one-week pre-op liquids diet? Is that typical for him? That's probably the part I am looking forward to the least.
  8. When I went for my consultation in February, Dr Kemmerling had done 27 sleeves according to the video I had to watch. He said that's been the most requested type of WLS surgery lately, so I'm sure that number grows every week. There was only the one complication you had mentioned. I had my NUT appt last week and have my psych eval next week. Then it's just two more months of food diary until I can submit for insurance. I really hope to be sleeved in early June! Glad to see all the Wisconsinites on here! Paraguay and all!
  9. Yes, I hope to have VSG by Dr Kemmerling. Still in the early stages of the process.
