  1. Julie, thank you so much for this, it is so inspirational to see, and good luck for your weight loss this week xxx
  2. Dear Sleevers, I saw that this survey had been done for sleevers weighing 220 lbs pre sleeve, so wanted to do the same for us. Please would you post and let us all know what your progress was, ie how much weight you lost in the first 12 weeks after sleeving. This would be so useful. Thank you so much for your contribution. Started out on surgery day at 300 lbs exactly. Mine is - 4 weeks out today, have lost the following:- wk 1 - 13 lbs wk 2 - 6 lbs wk 3 - 3 lbs wk 4 - 1 lb (argh! what has happened here?) Total loss - 23 lbs in 4 weeks. Thanks Imogen xxxxx
  3. Hello everyone, well, today is Friday and I am getting sleeved, here in the UK next Tuesday. I am so excited, just a little bit scared, but mostly just cant wait! I absolutely love reading the stories on this site, so felt it only right to start my own . I am 43, really happily married to a lovely man, and we have a gorgeous son, so I am so so lucky in my life, but have been overweight since my early twenties when I started earting naughty food, drinking and smoking too - all of which I enjoyed but they have taken their toll. I was diagnosed with heart failure two years ago and in that time I have given up smoking, drinking and lost two stone (28lbs), but I need more help and more quickly, so having been refused the surgery on the National Health Service, we have had to pay for the operation ourselves... EEEK, its £10,000, but if it works, and from what you guys out there are saying, it really does work, then it will be so so worth it. Then I intend to sell my new body to make the money back (ONLY JOKING!!! ). So, would love to hear from any of you who have the time, good luck to all of you too, and think of me on Tuesday Imogen x
  4. Hi everyone, just wondering, I am going for my surgery on Tuesday, hooray!, but as of yet, only my husband and best friend know about it, I have not even told my closest family, as they live a little way away, I have been able to get away with it, but just wondering what any of you guys have done, have you told? And if you kept it quiet, were you able to keep it quiet as you were magically losing weight??? I woul love to know, thank you all for reading xxxxx Imogen xxxx
  5. Hi there, thank you for this, I agree with you about everyone having an opinion! I am one week out now, and have only told very close family and friends. Regards Imogen
  6. Hello Everyone, I wonder if you can help please? I am being sleeved in 3 days time - am so excited! But, I have spent a lot of time doing my research and looking through this web site (so helpful!), and I cant actually believe that this is really going to work - does anyone out there know of any people who have had the sleeve and for any reason they have not suceeded in loosing either all or most of the weight they wanted to loose? And if so, do they know why this might have happened? Just wondering, thanks so much for any info, either way. x
  7. Gosh, thanks for this Rootman, this is really useful to bear in mind, the worst thing to happen would be for the sleeve to fail. I do wonder what happened to her in the long term.... Take care and again, thanks x

    Holly from Australia

Hi Holly, loved your post, it did make me smile I too am going for my VSG, 15 February, and although I have my husbands support, he I know that at the back of his head he is wondering why we are spening all this money when all I have to do is go on ANOTHER diet. I did mention the op to my sister and mum, some time ago but the response was not very supportive so I have not told them about the fact that it is booked and paid for, dont really know whether I will tell them before I go in or after....They live a little way away so I might not tell them, then just go visit in a couple of months and let them see the results. What about friends, have you told them? I am really so excited, its the first thing I think about when I wake up, and every moment I get too... Actually, you know what, I have actually started having dreams, in which I am slim - I always dream I am huge, or stuck in a small place, and in these new dreams I can actually feel what it would be like to be slim - EEEEK!!! Well, good luck with everything and keep in touch xxx
