  1. I wish all of you banders the best of luck. I have decided to opt out for now. Too much out of pocket expense. I will let you know if things change... Bye for now.

BTW, I welcome any and all comments. I will probably be needing all the input I can get I just found out that my part of the payment for the procedure will be $1,750. That sounds like an awful lot to me. I have a lot to think about now...I could spend that money on so many other things that would "help" me lose weight.... Wow....

  8. Well, I don't know what happened, but last week I decided it is time. I called on Thursday, got in to the clinic for the initial consult on Friday and went for the blood work today. Then I got scared. Major stuff here. Could I do it on my own??? Obviously not. I am 54 and the heaviest I have ever been (229 at 5;5"). A big size 18. Wow. I used to think I was fat when I weighed 135. Wow again. My friend Sandra had gastric last year and looks terrific. But, that is gastric. Will lap band do the same? Is this gonna work?

  11. Hello. I am in the beginning stages of getting banded. I did my blood work today and they say I should know by Friday about my insurance. Mine pays 90% and I have no idea how much that means I will pay. Can anyone help me on that??? I am also concerned about nausea. Did y'all deal with a lot of that at first???
